Lost Romance // Tony Stark

Part 15

"What are you two doing here? This isn't the library.."

"Yeah who invited the nerds.." a boy walks past teasing them for being at a Stark party.

"This is so lame.. it was such a bad idea to come.." she turns to her friend trying to be heard over the music.. "We're not wanted here.."

"Why?! He literally invited you.. he took you out on a date.. he must be interested!"

"I don't think so.. I mean  look at him.. look how he is with them.." she nods to Tony who's stood very close, with an arm around one of the more popular girls.. "He hasn't even noticed we're here.."

"Well.. maybe go and make yourself known?"

"No.." she shrugged.. "I'd rather go home.."

"No you wouldn't, you want him to see you.." her friend smiled.. before finally locking eyes with Tony.. "Oh.. looks like he's spotted you.."

"Oh great.." she sighed quickly looking away as Tony made his way over.. "Please can we go?"

"Nope.." her friend smirked as Tony approached them.

"Hey babe!" She greeted her, but she ignored him.. looking quickly around the room to avoid Tony's eyes.. "You look beautiful.."

"She's in a mood.."

"What?" Tony asked.. "Why?"

"I am not!!" She growled at her friend.. before turning to face Tony who was staring at her with a frown.. "I just.. this feels wrong.."

"Why?"

"This.. party.. it isn't for us.. we don't belong here.."

"But I invited you?" Tony asks in confusion

"Yeah.. and all your friends.. clearly don't want us here.. so we're going to go.." she placed her drink on the table next to her and headed outside.. her friend didn't follow.. but Tony did..

"I don't understand?" Tony asked when he caught up with her.. "What's wrong?" Why do you care what other people think?"

"I don't.. I just.. cant believe I'm so stupid.."

"You're not stupid.."

"I am.. because I came here thinking you actually wanted me here.. but in reality it's just an ego boost or a joke or something.."

"I have no idea what's you're talking about.. but I literally invited you.. because we.."

"What? Went on one date..that's if we can even call it that.. was that a joke too?"

"What?! No.. I actually thought we had something.."

"Yeah.. so did I.."

"But?"

"But.. I saw you in there.. with your arm around that girl from science.."
