Lost Romance // Tony Stark

Part 12

She felt embarrassed. The Tony she knew wasn't the Tony she saw now.. how could he kiss her then go and sleep with someone? Just like Pepper had warned her.

She made her way back to the office, full of hatred for the man she once loved.. but she couldn't show it.. if Tony saw that it bothered her.. it would only make things worse. As she arrived at the office, people were asking questions that she couldn't care about.. she just wanted to be alone.. she made her way to her office.. and sat down at the desk.. she let out a huge sigh.. thinking over her options..

Tony didn't know.. he was full of excitement.. he could only remember their kiss.. anything after that.. was a blur.. obviously he got so drunk.. he didn't know he'd slept with a pretty brunette that worked at the casino he ended up in..

He drove himself to Stark Industries, in hopes Miss Taylor would be waiting for him.. no one could wipe the smile off his face.. no one except Miss Taylor that is.. he hurried through the office to see Miss Taylor.. he gave a little knock to her office door and invited himself in..

"There you are.." he called out as he walked in full of arrogance.. "I've been looking everywhere for you.." he walked over to Miss Taylor who just ignored him.. Tony was so unaware as he leaned down to give her a kiss.. but again she ignored him.. "Okay.."

"Mr Stark, please can you sign these?" She pointed to some paperwork on her desk.. "You have a meeting with government in an hour so I expect you'll be ready for it.."

"Is everything alright?" He asked, surprisingly at her sudden change of mood.

"Yeah.. just got a lot of work.."

"Oh.. is there anything I can help with?"

"Yeah.. actually..you can leave me alone?" 

"Wait.. what?!" He laughs a little.. "Please don't tell me I imagined last night because it's all I've been thinking about.."

"Mhm.. sure it is.." Miss Taylor said, before heading towards the door..  "I've got stuff to do.."

"Woah! Wait!" Tony rushed over to her, grabbing her arm to stop her from leaving.. "What's going on?!"

"With what? I told you.. I have work to do Mr Stark.."

"Yeah.. but.. last night.."

"Last night.. was a mistake.. don't try and pretend it meant something to you.." Miss Taylor softly tells him..trying not to  show any emotion whatsoever..

"Is that what you think?" He asks sincerely.. taking her hand in his.. she glances down at the touch.. her stomach doing flips..

"It's not what I think.. it's what I know.. now please.. just.. let's keep this strictly professional yeah?"

"I don't understand.."

"I'm sorry.." she pulled her hand away from him and quickly disappeared from the office.. Tony was left alone, and confused. He couldn't understand what had changed? There was a connection between them again.. he could feel it.. and he was sure he didn't imagine their kiss.. she put just as much into it as he did..she was the one who wanted to take it slow..

So what could have happened that changed her mind.. he had to find out.

Tony made his way to the meeting room where Miss Taylor had already taken her seat.. there was a spare seat next to her so he went to take it.. but just as he was going to sit down, she placed her bag there.. he looked at her with a confused frown.. but she didn't make eye contact.. she kept looking forward..

Tony sighed and walked around the table to take the seat opposite her.. he couldn't concentrate on anything that was discussed in the meeting.. his eyes were fixated on her.. she didn't look at him once.. and it pissed him off.. he kept tapping the pen on the paper in front of him.. trying to make her look up.. but she was stubborn.. she didn't give in..
