Part 16

"Ready for what Tony?" She asks nervously as she looks up to him..

"Tell me.. when will you be ready for me.. to say I love you?" His words softly spoken, catching her by surprise.. his head tilts to the side with a small smile forming on his lips.. "I'm ready.. I just need to know when you will be?"

"I uh.." she didn't know how to respond.. that made even the smallest amount of sense.. but she had to tell him how she truly felt.. right?

"Was it a mistake?" He suddenly asked her.. looking down at her.. "Tell me it was a mistake.. and I'll move on.. I'm a big boy.. I can take it.."

"I don't know.. in all honesty.. Tony.. I don't know how I feel about you.. or.. what we did.. I need time.. I need time to figure it all out before.."

"So it was just sex.." he bites his lip.. trying to hide his annoyance.. "Right.."

"No!" She quickly defends.. "It wasn't just sex Tony.. but I do have a lot of confused feelings.. right now.."

"No I get it.. you going through a rough spot.. but I can't wait forever.. I've told you how I feel.. and you know that I'm serious.. I've given you proof.. and it's still not good enough.. I don't know what else I can do.."

"Just give me time.. please.." she begs.. standing up to grab his arm.. "I just need to be sure of this.. before I can commit.."

"I'm sorry Miss Taylor but I'm finding it really hard to understand.. you either want to be with me.. or you don't.." he moved out of her touch.. with a sincere look to his face.. "We have strong feelings.. that thing at the photoshoot.. I could have easily went off with one of those models.. but I didn't.. I choose to be with you.. doesn't that mean something?"

"Yes of course but.."

"Then what's the problem?!" He groans in frustration.. "Didn't you feel the spark between us?! The same spark that we had all those years ago?"

"I did but.."

"But what?! Babe you've gotta help me understand what I'm missing here?!" He shouts just as a knock on the office door alerts them.. they both take a step away.. Tony ran a hand through his hair in frustration again as a young intern enters the room.. oblivious as to what was just happening.. she enters with a pile of paperwork for Miss Taylor to go through.. given it's her first day back.. she did have a lot to go through.

As she's leaving the office Tony made his way back to his desk.. he gave one last look to Miss Taylor who looked back at him as she began to slowly close the door.. he never got the answer he needed.. if she wasn't prepared to give him a chance why should he wait?

The tension only grew stronger between them as time went by.. the pair never spoke of their.. moment at the photoshoot.. Miss Taylor never got the chance to tell Tony how she truly felt.. mainly because Tony didn't allow her.. whenever they were left in a room together.. Tony would quickly leave.. he was trying his best to distance himself away from his assistant.. he tried so much that she even thought about quitting.. she would organise a few interviews for someone to take over as his assistant but.. every time there was someone right for the job.. she just couldn't bring herself to walking away..

Things only got worse for her from there.. as Tony found out about what she was doing.. he pushed down his true feelings for her and began living the life he had always known.. the playboy style..
