I found myself standing over the many screens, looking at the live feed of the Vanguard communications and something really did peak my interest. It seems that my scavenger group that recently returned was spotted by some Guardians and have reported to the higher ups, in full detail about the gear and intentions, or actually perceived intentions of my men. I will have to be more careful with this kind of thing, yes, I can't make my soldiers more stealthy or anything, but we will have to see how to hide this place from them as I don't want to deal with them at all. It also appears that Mara Sov had recently visited the Last City, no doubt that they probably had a small chat about Lezia. On the other hand, we did make a breakthrough with Ether production, having been able to produce more clean and efficient Ether for the Eliksni. And as for me, I have gotten really used to my powers, a breath of fresh air, but a welcome addition. Our little community had done well so far and I hope it will in the future, the training of our soldiers is going well, education and technological advancement is going well, the standard of living has gone up. Up till now they have all lived in small tents but now, we are slowly starting to build structures both in the rock around us and on the ground, a wall also to protect us to some extent. So far, everyone is getting along well which is something I didn't expect, I expected conflict but there hasn't been any.

As I take a stroll through the small village we have built I try to make sense of Lezia's behavior around me. She has been acting strange lately, even more than before and I do not know what to do, how to react. One moment she is clinging to me, around me and another she seems mad at me. These mood swings I have not trained for, they are difficult. The children playing all around me, it is something to see, brings a nostalgia to me and a spark of hope. Children are the only beacon we can have, if they aren't happy, then we are doomed to fail, but if they play, if they act innocent, untainted by the worries around them, then we are doing something right and there is still hope for us, for the whole world. The world around is cruel and it is up to us, to soften this blow and to fix it so that our offspring might get to live a better tomorrow. Even if we die, it is a sacrifice that every parent would do, just so that they could live better than we did. After I am done walking around I climb up to the highest point near the village and sit there, to clear out my mind and answer some questions that I had. Would allying with the Guardians be of benefit, would it be a good thing or not. I would be a hypocrite, but now it isn't all about me, there is too much at play, if it means safety for our people, then I think allying with them wouldn't be as bad as staying alone. But at the same time, it would attract a lot of unwanted attention and we would probably have to move from here which is something that I do not want. This place is serene, quiet, clean and decently safe and it would be a shame to just leave. In my monologue I hear someone approaching me, a Eliksni walking up behind me. We have a visitor. A Guardian.

I made my way as quickly as I could down there, a crowd had gathered, weapons pointed, unease in the air is palpable. The Guardian stands there, alone, unbothered and looks at me as I approach them. They is a warlock, that is for sure and judging by the figure, a male.
