I admit updates are slow but I've no intention of discontuing this story. Woo and Mudeok's journey is one I'm invested in exploring as seen in this chapterWoo found himself at Jinyowon. He had heard from Maid Servant Kim that Lady Jin wanted to meet with him and that was very important for him.to.meet up with the leader so he left Wook's training to Mudeok.
The last time he had been here was when he was six apperantly, when his and Jin Bu Yeon's engagement took place. Other than that he had never been inside Jinyowon.
He looked at the door to the Jinyowon, behind it contained relics that housed the most dangerous and rare evil spirit's in the country. The Jin family were guarded with the responsibility by their ancestor Jin Seol Ran to capture all loose spirits .
From what Cho Yeon had told him before , only those of the Jin family could open the door and access what was behind it. Inside also contained the great fire bird .
"Jang Woo. " Jin Ho-gyeong , the leader of the Jin family said from behind him , "Jinyowon is honoured to have you ."
"The pleasure is mine. " He followed her to the garden where priestess came by offering tea , "Maid servant Kim said you wanted to see me? Is it urgent Lady Jin? "
The leader nodded, "yes it's important. She told me anything relating to your brother's life and happiness must first be conducted with you."
"What is it you wish to tell me ?"
"It's no lie that your brother is the weakest mage in the land and will probably face humilation at the duel."
Woo reframed from saying something that would come out as rude but that did not mean he was not offended by the jab- anytime anyone belittled Wook it made him furious. But now he had hope in his brother's capability.
He believed in Mudeok's training and he and Master Lee had also put in their effort in helping Wook control the energy in his right arm.
"If he becomes the son-in-law then there wouldn't be a need for a duel. "
"Pardon?"Woo did a double take , "how would that stop the duel between him and the Crown Prince.
Jin Ho-gyeong smirked , "Our family owns the plaque that gives us the power to reject the Kings order and dethrone him if all the mages vote for it uniamiously of course. "
"You're offering to go up against his Majesty's order of depriving Wook's chance of becoming Gwanju."
Woo had to admit the idea was attempting but he was more than certain his brother had no intention of getting back with the younger daughter of the Jin family.
"Only if he marries my daughter of course."
"But Wook and Cho Yeon were already engaged once and it didn't go well for them." He folded his arms , "I don't think given how they interact either wants to rekindle that."
"Cho Yeon agreed to the idea."
"She still wishes to marry him?"
"I preferred she marries you , in fact It was the original idea but she was in love with Jang Wook." Lady Jin shook her head wirj what seemed like exasperation, "and still is. she's willing to marry him and you're still officially engaged to Bu Yeon." She added the last part quitetly.
Woo cleared his throat , "I would have to discuss this with Wook. It's an aspect of his life so I cannot make a say on it without consulting."
"Very well. Jang Woo are you perhaps seeing anyone?"
