The students were welcomed to Hogwarts with heavy rain and wind. Usually the start of the year would bring sun and a nice breeze but today was if Merlin were punishing them.

After putting on her robe over her buttoned shirt, she excited the carriage alongside her friends. When Lydia quickly made her way inside she was met with a worried Professor McGonagall running up to her and Harry.

"I need you two, along with Ms Granger to follow me to my office please. Mr Weasley, you may make your way to the Great Hall for the feast tonight," She directed them. Ron looked between everyone, looking like he felt out of place he left with only a nod of his head.

Lydia wondered why Professor McGonagall was requesting them to meet in her office, for a brief moment she tried to recollect all of the bad things she had done that could get her punished. But she shook the thought off as they had just arrived to Hogwarts so nothing should be held against her from the year prior.

Once inside the Professor's office, McGonagall shut the door swiftly behind everyone and then started inspecting Lydia and Harry.

Lydia flinched slightly when McGonagall raised her hand towards her, but relaxed when she only used her hand to check Lydia for any injuries. Although the girl felt very uncomfortable by these actions.

"Professor Lupin informed me with an owl about the reaction you two had towards the Dementor.." She moved on to inspect Harry now. "Although you both look fine I still want you checked out by Madam Pomfrey to insure your health," Professor McGonagall added.

Lydia and Harry looked between each other for a moment and Lydia became their voice. "Thank you for the offer Professor but we insure you that we aren't ill and are fine to carry out any activities." Harry agreed with her now and with one last worried look from McGonagall she agreed to let them go.

"Ms Granger, please stay back to have a word, I won't keep you long," McGonagall called out before they could walk out.

Lydia looked at Hermione with a questioning expression but Hermione gave her a reassuring smile, "I'll be back for dinner, I won't be long," Hermione informed them.

The two then exited the office and started their walk to the Great Hall together.

"How're you feeling Harry?" She questioned the boy, wanting to check on him.

"I'm alright, I feel quite a bit better now. That man on the train must've been Professor Lupin and he was right about the chocolate improving the effects," Harry smiled.

"I'm glad Potter," She smiled back at him.

Harry raised a brow at her now, "What about you? That Dementor was with you for much longer than with me. I passed out within seconds but it looked like you almost fought it off," He informed her.

She crossed her arms and sported a cocky smile, "I'm still fine Potter," She lied, the screams still plagued her mind. "I guess I'm just better than you, like always," She joked.

Harry playfully acted like he was hurt at first and then shoved her shoulder while smiling, "You prick! I can't even check on you without your antics," He laughed while he shoved her again, forcing the girl to laugh as well.

Once they reached the Great Hall, they both found their seats near Ron. Harry sat beside him while Lydia sat opposite from the boys and saved a seat for Hermione beside her.

Time was starting to go by and Hermione still hadn't shown up. By now sorting for the first years was almost over and Lydia was starting to become slightly worried about the bushy haired girl's absence. But she tried her best not to show it by cheering loudly for the first years sorted into Gryffindor.
