"Did my brother like her?" Lisa asked softly, her voice in a hushed whisper.
Jungkook shook his head slowly. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice laced with uncertainty, his expression unreadable, poured three cups of coffee, a silent observer of the conversation.
Jimin scoffed, slamming the mug down on the table. "What the hell is your brother thinking, you know," he spoke indignantly. "Fifth loss in
a row this year, and he's been getting his ass handed to him by Kim Namjoon all season!"
Lisa's brow furrowed, a determined glint in her eyes. "Kim Namjoon won four times this year, and my brother beat him last year,” she countered, her voice firm.
Seeing her serious face, Jimin's exasperation melted into amusement. "Alright, alright," he chuckled, "let's not get serious about their achievements. How many years have we known each other, anyway?"
Jungkook, seemingly detached from the conversation, squeezed the mouth of his white porcelain cup with two fingers and took a sip of coffee. As if none of this had anything to do with him.
Jimin finished his coffee in silence, the unspoken message clear. He grabbed his keys and left, leaving the two alone.
A comfortable silence settled between them, a stark contrast to the earlier banter.
"It is bothering you to listen to us,” Jungkook asked softly, his gaze lingering on her face. "Talking about the past?"
Lisa shook her head, a smile playing on her lips. “Would it be annoying if I talked about my childhood?"
He chuckled a deep rumble that sent shivers down her spine. "No," he replied, his eyes twinkling.
But unlike Jimin, no words followed, leaving her to wonder what he truly desired.
The beginning of a relationship is a time of discovery and unspoken promises. They
were strangers, each a mystery waiting to be unraveled. The desire to know everything, every detail about the other, hung heavy in the air.
Every word he spoke about himself, about his past, was a revelation for her. She hung onto his words, her full attention focused on the man unfolding before her.
Jungkook slid the coffee cup towards her, catching a whiff of something unfamiliar.
"I should probably brush my teeth before I eat anything,” she mumbled, already heading towards the bathroom.
The door closed behind her, and Jungkook couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. There was something undeniably endearing about her, a spark that ignited a warmth within him.
Lisa emerged from the bathroom, blinking in the morning light. Soobin, already awake, sat across from Jungkook, their conversation flowing easily.
Jungkook noticed the untouched, cold coffee and rose to make a fresh pot. As the water heated, their gazes met across the table, a silent exchange that lingered for a beat too long.
"Just a moment,” Jungkook gestured towards the sputtering coffee pot.
Lisa hummed in acknowledgment, a nervous flutter in her stomach. As she waited, another thought struck her: "I'm moving out today."
"The club's training camp starts today,” she explained, her voice betraying a hint of excitement mixed with apprehension. "The coach asked everyone to stay at the hotel."
Soobin's jaw dropped. "Are you leaving now? My brother really did it, huh? Tied you back to him the moment he arrived." His voice held a mixture of disbelief and amusement
