The airplane dipped through the clouds, bumping like a car on a bumpy road. Rain lashed against the windows, making everything outside a blurry mess. Finally, they landed in Hawaii with a whoosh!
Jungkook and Lisa stepped out of the airport, blinking away raindrops and the tiredness from the long flight. They found the others and together they waved down a taxi they had already booked.
This trip was different. No volcano climbing this time they were sticking to the main island, Oahu, the most popular spot.
Namjoon, the leader, grabbed the front seat of the taxi.
Jungkook squeezed into the back with Lisa and Jisoo, while Jimin, Taehyung, and Hoseok piled in the back, all laughing and. squished together. Seven of them, one taxi just like in the old days.
This was the first time they‘d all been on vacation together since they were kids back in Busan. Back then, money was scarce, and traveling was just a dream.
Over the years, they'd all managed to take trips on their own, but never as a whole group.
The rain outside couldn't dampen their excitement. This wasn't just a trip to Hawaii, it was a reunion with their best friends!
"Hey, Jungkook," Hoseok piped up suddenly. "Weren't you the one who said it wouldn't be any fun unless we all came together?"
Namjoon, in the front seat, swiveled around to scold Hoseok. "Watch your language, buddy. Have some respect!"
Taehyung, usually quiet, surprised everyone. In a low voice, he mumbled a single word, “Rainbow.” It was a strange sigh, almost like
a little boy's whimper, and it made everyone chuckle.
Their hotel, a Hilton, sat right on the coast. Stepping out of the taxi, they were greeted by a stunning view. The open lobby design offered a clear sight of the beach and endless blue ocean. Taehyung, a self proclaimed vacation newbie, stood mesmerized.
It was his first time at the beach, and blurting out in wide eyed wonder, "Is there another rainbow?"
This sparked laughter, especially from Lisa.
She remembered her own first trip here with Jungkook, equally captivated by the endless ocean and rainbows. Jungkook asked everyone to wait while he and Lisa checked in.
At the counter, Lisa leaned forward, softly questioning, "Rainbow Tower?”
After the receptionist confirmed their room location.
“Yes,” she replied, “It has the best view of Waikiki Beach.”
But for Jungkook, the choice wasn't just about the view. He remembered Lisa's love for rainbows.
Back before their Asian Games training camp, he'd booked this room, knowing they'd be visiting the ‘Rainbow State.’ and wanting Lisa to live in the ‘Rainbow Tower.’ Peak season made it a lucky find!
The big guys, all pumped for some fun, made plans to hit the pool and explore the beach.
Jungkook, however, knew there was plenty of time for their trip to stretch over ten days.
Dinner was the plan, and with that settled, he whisked Lisa away to their room on the 22nd floor, the one furthest in.
After a refreshing shower, Lisa meticulously hung her dresses from the box in the closet.
Meanwhile, Jungkook shed his t-shirt and stepped into a cool shower. He emerged, gloriously shirtless.
Lisa, still holding a hanger for a suspender skirt, reached for his shoulders, her fingers kneading gently.
