The Demon Tree's Queen

Another egg dropped from The Demon Tree. This time, it was neither shallow nor a failure. What came out of the egg this time was that of true beauty. A woman came out. She had long, silky white hair. Eyes as blue as the sky. I saw true purity in her eyes; something I couldn't see in Kasim. She started walking towards me with such a grace that not even God could be blessed with. She introduced herself

"Hi, Gypsy King, my name is Belora. It is a pleasure to meet you. I know all about you, or more like I've heard a lot about you. It will be a pleasure to get to know you."

Her voice was that of an angel's. I wondered how such a beautiful creation could come from something so devoid of heart. I introduced myself to her

"Hi. Belora, it will be a pleasure to get to know you, too."

She started walking towards a door. I followed behind her. We got to the door, and there was a staircase upwards. The silence coming from upwards was ringing in my ears. It seemed that there was no one up there. She walked upwards, so I did, too. Walking behind her let me truly take in her beauty and ponder about it. To me, it was as if there was a glow coming from her. In the end, there was a balcony looking out over the battlefield. Two chairs laid there, that befit of a King and Queen. We looked out over the battlefield to see hundreds of corpses laid. Some turned to turned souls and restrained. The others are able to fight another day. She turned to me and said

"Aren't humans beautiful. Able to fight for ideas bigger than themselves. An idea vague enough to be simple, but too much for them to think any deeper. But you, Gypsy King, are different from them. You wouldn't throw yourself out there for ideas that are not your own. The reason I have been given life is to get you to make an offspring. Kasim wants to get you to join his cause. A new world centered around him. I have been gifted the soul of a woman from the 19th century. The intelligence of a genius. Physical attributes that could go up against a gorilla. But yet, all I've been brought into this world is to make something bigger than me. I have only been alive for a few minutes, and yet this world has already made me a cog in the machine. One thing I am certain about, however, is how fair you look to me."

We sat in those chairs for what felt like an eternity. There was a bed in the room, a king-sized bed. On that night, we laid asleep there, watching the moonlight spill into the room. Our adoration of each other spills into each other. A river that could not be stopped. The morning came, and she was up on the balcony watching turned souls, trying to break through the walls.

"Look at them, so desperate in their attempts. Knocking and knocking til their nails start to cut and smash, bleed and infect, corrode and erode. It truly is futile."

"It very well is futile, but that's what I find so great in their attempts. Each one of them, the lives they lived, could have been wonderful, or it could have been terrible, doesn't matter now. Yet, something in them, deep inside, is yellow in its standing. Glowing it is. Telling them to keep on moving."

"You know Gypsy King, you are a true marvel to listen to. All I want to do is rummage through the hallways of your brain. To be able to see through your eyes. That's one thing that Purgatory can't provide. Everything has to have limitations. So many things can happen here. People die and come here. Yet, I can't ever experience something like someone else in the truest sense. The closest we can get to is to spend a lifetime with someone, know them through thick and thin. Whether it be a lover, friend, parent, or child. But the sad thing is that everyone dies. In this world, however, death is nothing but inevitable. It's as common as going outside and seeing a tree. I want to spend eternity with you, Gypsy King. I want to be your queen."

And, The Sun rose over a new day. There is no such thing as a day here, however. So, in this case, I had paused my time and continued it. Continuing a new beginning, a Sun rose anew for me. A queen to have sat beside.
