The Lost Relic On The Wall

I was reborn, from the ashes of my death I had risen up. This cabin, what was it? I remembered dying and waking up here. The only thing I could see was a woman sitting in a rocking chair.
She sat there majestically, the presence of a queen, one that held incredible power. In that bed, I laid my body felt anew, like a new fetus being brought into a new world.

The only thing that hadn't changed were my raggedy clothes, a relic of a bygone life, left to be dragged on to the end of time. When I stood up, I saw so many things around the cabin.

The first thing I noticed was a desk with three wooden carvings, two less sinister than the third one. The first on the far left was a small bear, and the second one to the far right was a wolf. The one in the middle was something straight out of a nightmare; pure black in color, a head with three red eyes, its hands had fingers stuck like glue, and the legs had holes where the knee would be.

Blood dripping from the holes. Looking straight into a creature likely made in the image of a demon. One so malicious that not even Satan would welcome him. I turned around to ask the lady what it was. She said
"That my wandering soul is an old friend of mine that has long ago been sucked into the malice of the forest. A malice that has existed since the beginning of time. I said, "Is it still wandering around in the forest?"

She stood up and walked up to me, replying with
"that I do not know, only the souls brave enough to go out know that. It has been a while since one came back, so perhaps it still is."
In this world, it might have seemed like I was reborn, but it did not feel like I was reborn in a place to sleep, but to yet again fight. I turned to my right and saw a taxidermy on the wall. A head hanging up on the wall. Yet another creature from the depths of one's imagination.

This time, it seemed to be alive, protruding smoke from its mouth. The head was the shape of a horse, only bigger. With two eyes on each side of the head. When I looked into those eyes, all I could feel was a burning fire, I felt my soul would be burned for eternity if I continued to look into those eyes. I was curious yet again. I asked her about that, and she said

"That right there is an old love of mine. Long long ago, we were together, lovebirds as they say. But we weren't meant to last. I broke things up with him and made this cabin, and ever since I've lived here. Him, on the other hand, he didn't take things well. One night, he came over planning to destroy everything I had built. Exclaiming that we were meant to stay together meant for each other. Screaming that he couldn't live without me, that I was the only thing worth sticking around for. I truly did love him, which is what made it all the more terrible that I had to cut him down. I couldn't stand to see yet another loved one be eaten by the malice of the forest. And so I showed mercy upon his soul. The forest, on the other hand, wasn't so kind. You see that the head is smoking up?"

I looked up to it and said yeah. She said
"That means that he's still wandering around in the forest, searching for me, perhaps. Whatever he's doing, his soul is long gone. A lost relic of the past.”
I started wondering if I had to go out into that dark forest she talked about. Was I destined to be eaten by the forest? I looked over to her and asked in a soft, anxious voice if I had to leave her cabin. I let the fear out of my mouth.

She, in her majestic self, had stood up and walked over to me. Her walk was godly. This was a dream that I had not woken from, one I wished I had never woke from. The sound of her gentle, slow walk to me had made me forget what place and time I was in. She asked me to put my hands out, so I did. Her smooth hands grabbed onto mine. She told me
“I'm sorry that this is the situation that you have been put in. It isn't fair in the slightest, I see that. Yet again, in your life, you will feel that you have no control. A control that you so desperately want. But hear me, there is a tree standing at the end of your path. Control is but an illusion. Take control of you, not your circumstance.”
Once again, I must continue crawling towards an end I can not see, I see that now.
