He was backing up from Ryan, as he was soon backed up against the wall. It was late at night, so Ryan was already drunk by now, which is when he hurts him the most. He let out a quiet whimper as Ryan slammed his right hand right next to his head against the wall. He was trembling slightly. He had just gotten back from his part time job at the cafe across town, but he was twenty minutes late because he had to close up the cafe tonight. He was looking past Ryan, at the wall across the room. He knew that Ryan only liked when he looked in his eyes when he forces him to. He said to Ryan in a very quiet and shaky voice" I...I'm sorry for being late Ry...." This was the nickname he has used for Ryan since they first met at the cafe he still works at.

When Ryan heard him talk, it, like usual, made him just even more mad. He growls a bit, as he harshly grabs Phoenix by his hair, holding his head against the wall. This made Phoenix let out a yelp, from surprise and from it hurting his head. He tightly closed his eyes as he did not want to see how mad Ryan was right now. "Shut up you stupid shit! Didn't I tell you to not stay out past when you get out of work?!" When he star5ted yelling, Phoenix started shaking even more, because of how scared he was. From being so scared, he went silent like he usually does. When Ryan is not given an answer though, he glares at Phoenix before punching him as hard as he could in the stomach, making Phoenix gasp, and let out a groan of pain as he doubled over a bit. He had also started coughing a bit, as he was trying to catch his breath and composure. His vision was a bit blurry, as he tried to look up at Ryan this time. He was also seeing double. He could see that Ryan looked like he could snap at any moment now. He then heard Ryan say to him in a very pissed off sounding voice "ANSWER ME damn it!"

This made Phoenix let out another small whimper, before he answered in one of his unusual stuttering and scared sounding voice "I..I..I'm sorry R...Ry...I had to c..c..close up shop today.." As he was saying this Ryan pulled on his hair again forcing him to stand back up, even though there was unbearable pain going through Phoenix's stomach and rib cage right now. He let out a quiet gasp as the pain increased even more. From how bad it was hurting from Ryan forcing him to stand up by pulling his hair, he gently used his fingers to try to untangle Ryan's from his hair. He said in a fear filled and whisper of a voice "P...please let go Ry...I...it hurts..." When he said this, it was made Ryan snap that night. Ryan tightened the grip on Phoenix's hair until his knuckles stared turning white, and he dragged him to the room that they share with each other, throwing him harshly to the floor onto his back with a loud thud.

He yelped when he was dragged by his hair, but he stopped trying to make Ryan let go. As they got closer and closer to their room, Phoenix got even more scared. This was where Ryan usually would hurt him the most at. He let out a groan when he was thrown onto the floor, as a searing pain was now going through his back. He quickly tried to sit up to try to be able to protect himself more, as he saw Ryan was looking for something in his dresser. He slowly was trying to stand up, when Ryan turned around, starting to walk towards him with a look of rage on his face still. Phoenix's eyes widen as he saw what was in Ryan's hand. It was a whip, and not one of those flimsy fake ones that didn't hurt, it was one made out of a thick and rough leather.

Phoenix, instead of just standing there or backing away, decided to try to run, even though he knows that that would make Ryan even more mad, and that Ryan would catch him in the end anyways. He tried to dash past Ryan, but Ryan had quickly stuck out his right foot in front of Phoenix, tripping him, making him fall flat on his knees and hands. He then went to the bedroom door closing it and locking it "There, now you wont be able to escape or hide even if you tried again." He then started walking back towards Phoenix in a menacing way.

One. Two. Three. Phoenix was forcing himself to keep count of each time Ryan hit him on his back with the whip. Doing this was making himself stay grounded, and was also making it where he didn't try to ask him to stop, but after the tenth hit, he was breathing slightly fast, as his back now had ten long slightly bleeding welts on it. His whole body was shaking, and felt like he would collapse at any second. He weakly tried to crawl away from Ryan, as his back was hurting far too much for him to try to stand up. When he did this though, he heard Ryan start walking towards him, and before he knew it, Ryan was in front of him, glaring down at him. He then picked Phoenix up by the collar of the front of his shirt, that now has rips and blood staining the back of it. Phoenix let out a quiet hiss of pain, as the fabric was forced against the welts on his back.
