Help me, teacher

Chapter 5

After they got to the house, Nicolas got out of the car, gently helping Phoenix get out of the car as well. He still looked like he was in a daze, which worried Nicolas. He started walking inside, accidentally walking a bit faster than Phoenix.

When Phoenix noticed he was was walking ahead of him, his head jerked upwards, as this made him panic a bit, because of his separation anxiety that no one knows about was acting up. He quickly forced himself to run slightly, so he could catch up with him, immediately hugging Nicolas's left arm, clinging to him. From people who he tried to get to help him just leaving him behind when he asked for help, he thought in that moment, that Nicolas was going to leave him behind too.

When he clung to Nicolas's arm, he suddenly said in a panicky, and fear filled voice "P-p-please don't leave me behind like the others did!!!" He had tears in his wide eyes. At first, when Phoenix grabbed Nicolas's arm suddenly and tightly, it startled him, and when he heard what he said he looked at Phoenix, seeing the absolute fear and sadness in his eyes. He then gently holds Phoenix close, lifting him up and letting him hug him around his throat as he carried him inside"I'm sorry Phoenix....don't worry, I will never leave you behind." He could see that in his eyes, by how much fear and sadness was in them, that he had been broken and betrayed by multiple people in his past.

He got to the bedroom he was letting Phoenix stay in, and to help him feel secure, he was still holding him, as Phoenix was hugging him in a tight and clingy way. He picked out a light grey short sleeved hoodie, with three red stars on the front, and a pair of slightly loose leggings that look like jeans for Phoenix. He then took Phoenix to the restroom.

He sat Phoenix on his feet, smiling at him after seeing Phoenix immediately look up at him. This helped Phoenix calm down a lot, because he knew by the look in Nicolas's eyes, that he would be safe. Nicolas then gently helped him put the clothes on, as they were a little too big, just how Phoenix liked his clothes.

After Phoenix was dressed, Nicolas walks with him back to the car. As they were walking, Phoenix said to him in a quiet and embarrassed sounding voice"I...I'm sorry Mr.Nicolas..." he was looking at his own feet, his shoulders slumped slightly.

Nicolas had his arm around Phoenix's shoulders as they were walking, so he gave him a gentle squeeze "It's okay Phoenix, you have nothing to apologize for."  He then helps Phoenix get into the car, gently helping him buckle up, and closing the car door, before going to the driver's side, and getting in himself.

As they were on their way to Phoenix's eye appointment, Phoenix had noticeably calmed down, and instead of looking anxious and scared like earlier, he looked excited. He had remembered that they were getting his new glasses today, and he's excited and curious about what type of glasses frame he is going to pick.

He is playing with his own sleeves as he is thinking, while looking out the window, even though it is very blurry. He thought that it was normal to see like this by now. He is also, truthfully, scared and embarrassed about wearing his glasses. This is because Ryan and his friends would always bully him about wearing them.

Once they pulled into the parking lot, Nicolas parked the car. He made sure to park in the closet spot that is not a handicap parking spot. He then got out of the car,and went to the passenger side, helping Phoenix out of the car. He starts walking to the entrance, holding Phoenix's hand as they walk.
