...Love is like two people on a seesaw. One goes up, the other goes down. The balance is always off—thanks to time, monotony, and sometimes people like Tokyo, who only know one way to deal with pain: give a little back. At least, that's what I think about her and my little brother...
"Lisbon and I may be faced with pressure at some point that we won't be able to handle by ourselves," the Professor begins.
"We'll have the army on top of us. The police. And some things may go wrong," Lisbon continues for him.
A small note lands on the table in front of Venice. She looks around, confused, before catching Phoenix's gaze. Raising an eyebrow in question, he simply gestures toward the note. Glancing ahead to make sure the Professor isn't watching, she unfolds it.
Courtyard tonight?
x P.
Grinning, she turns to Phoenix and nods. A similar smile spreads across his face, accompanied by a triumphant fist pump under the table. Ever since that night a few weeks ago, things have been going great between the two of them. Almost every night, they meet at the old bank in the courtyard, talking for hours about anything and everything, revealing things about each other that no one else knows.
"...we have Plan Alcatraz," the Professor's voice snaps them back to reality. Phoenix notices Palermo watching them with a grin before handing him another note.
100 euros?
;)
Phoenix rolls his eyes and turns his attention back to the front.
"If Lisbon and I find ourselves in a critical situation, we'll need you to create the largest diversion possible," the Professor continues.
"The objective is for the police to be focused on two places at once," Lisbon adds. "And there's only one thing more powerful than capturing two of us."
"Capturing all of us?" Tokyo asks, and the Professor nods, pointing at her.
"If all of you were to escape, that would be the biggest distraction we could create. This will drive them crazy."
Meanwhile, Rio and Helsinki are hammering a hole into the floor with sledgehammers, while Nairobi helps melt the gold. I'm dressing Sofia, the ferret, in a tiny version of our red overalls. I'm not the biggest fan of ferrets, but I have to admit—it's cute.
"Nairobiii!" Tokyo's voice suddenly rings out from behind me.
"Ooh, ooh," Nairobi responds as Tokyo throws herself around her.
"Is she drunk?" I ask, confused, watching as Tokyo spins around to throw me a nasty glare.
"Look at the little bitch!" Tokyo yells, stumbling toward me. "You should be ashamed of how you treat your brother. You're a selfish, miserable bitch, do you hear me?" She shouts over Nairobi's shoulder as she tries to intervene.
"You seem to like talking about yourself," I respond flatly. "Get her out of here; she's ruining the plan."
"You bitch! You don't tell me what to do. Everything is your fault. Everything!"
"I'm not sure what here is my fault," I answer calmly, turning back to Sofia. But before I can, my eyes meet Rio's. He glances at Tokyo with frustration.
