Minghao had always been the type to keep his emotions close to his chest, but lately, he found himself gravitating toward Jeonghan more than usual.
Whether it was during practice sessions or downtime between performances, Minghao's eyes seemed to search for Jeonghan's presence, drawn to him like a moth to a flame.
He found comfort in Jeonghan's laughter, the way it echoed in the empty practice room, or how his smile could lighten even the heaviest of moods.
Yet, he couldn't shake the nagging feeling that he was crossing an unspoken boundary.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Jeonghan asked one day, glancing over at Minghao, who had been leaning a little too close for comfort while they sat on the couch of the practice room, other members scattered around them.
Minghao hesitated, the warmth of Jeonghan's shoulder against his sending a ripple of uncertainty through him.
"Yeah, just, I like being around you."
He admitted, trying to sound casual, but the earnestness in his voice betrayed him.
Jeonghan raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at his lips.
"You're being extra clingy lately, you know that?"
Minghao felt a flush creeping up his neck.
"Am I?"
He asked, feigning innocence.
But deep down, he knew he had been seeking Jeonghan's attention more than ever, and the vulnerability of that realization made him feel exposed.
"Just a little,"
Jeonghan teased, though there was a softness in his gaze that suggested he didn't mind as much as he let on.
"It's okay. I don't mind."
The reassurance sent a flutter through Minghao's chest, but the tension in the air lingered.
Was this a safe space for his feelings, or was he treading on thin ice?
He wasn't sure, but one thing was clear, he didn't want to pull away just yet.
Minghao shifted slightly, feeling both a rush of relief and a twinge of anxiety.
"I just, I don't know. I feel like I can be myself around you,"
He confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
"You make everything feel less overwhelming."
Jeonghan's expression softened, his teasing demeanor giving way to something more genuine.
