If you have not read my one shot Somebunny Better Explain, some of this might not make sense. So I advise you do that first... enjoy! ♡It's a Sunday, a wet, cold rainy one. The perfect day for staying curled up in bed and sleeping in.
And that's exactly what Izuku is doing. It's his first say off in seven days. He's been working twelve hour shifts with not much sleep in between. Last night he had a particular long shift with more than one vilian attack. He came home with several bumps, cuts and brusies that his boyfriend, Katsuki had quickly bandaged up before giving a rough annoyed kiss at the injuries before he himself had to rush out for work.
The hero couple has been on opposite shifts the past week with one on days and other nights. This is sometimes an unfortunate part of being a couple in this line of work, opposing shifts and weeks where you hardly see each other. Neither one has been happy about that this week something Katsuki expressed when he mumbled a string of curses as he headed out the door this morning with his sharp features twisted into a pouty scowl.
Izuku hasn't liked to be away from him either promising a moody blonde that they would spend every minute together Monday when they were both off.
But right now deep green eyes are closed to the world as much needed sleep holds him in a peaceful bliss. He's out cold, finally able to relax weary battle tense muscles. The last thing his ears heard was the steady sound of a summer rain falling outside an open window, that is until now...
Suddenly a tired hero is jolted awake from heavy pounding on his door and the nonstop ringing of the doorbell.
He springs upright in bed, eyes wide with his heart pounding unsure of what exactly the sounds are at first. As his sleep drunk mind finally starts to process the situation he jumps up with his feet tangled in the sheets as he struggles to get his sluggish limbs to work properly while he yells to whomever is at his door.
" H-old on! I'll be right there!"
He's surprised to hear the voice of Hawks behind the door as he hurries to put his slippers on, a voice that sounds flustered and agitated.
" Midoriya! Hurry up and get out here!"
A shaky, scarred hand reaches for the handle unsure what he's going to hear or see. Katsuki is out on patrol and in this line of work danger or death is a real threat and he's praying it's neither.
As soon as he yanks the door open he's met with the sight of the winged hero holding some sort of cloth bag with his face and neck covered with ugly deep scratches, some bleeding and brusied.
"Hawks! Are you ok?! What's happened?! Was it a villain?! Do you need backup, or help ?! Maybe you should come in so I can get the first aid kit and clean those scra..."
Hawks cuts off the rambling mid sentence holding up the bag in his hand, a bag that suddenly thrashes around and hisses.
" No. Just... just take this right now and keep him away from me till the quirk wears off. Got it ? Far.. far away from me. Oh and don't let him fool you he can still use his quirk to some degree and those damn claws get hot.", says sternly.
Izuku raises a confused brow as he reaches out and takes hold of the bag that's not terribly heavy but definitely holds a little heft with sometimes that he knows must be alive inside.
" Um.. ok. But what's...what's exactly in here?",he questions with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
He sees a slow amused smile spread across the hero's features.
" Oh you'll see and remember what I said Midoriya, far.. far away from me.", he says as he begins to walk away.
Izuku nods as he eyes the suspicious bag in his hand calling back down the apartment corridor.
