✿~'|3rd Person's Pov|'~✿
The nervousness finally kicked in when Kanao let down her hair, slowly brushing it and curling the ends of her hair. "I'm actually doing this..." She whispered to herself as she finished putting on a little makeup and cleaned her desk up. The boy who used to originally bullied her a tad bit, was now gonna have the guy she goes on a date with. The feeling sitting deep in her stomach. "There is no way this is actually happening..." After he said they found each other under the bleachers, the day they found themselves walking home together, it didn't feel real in how much time flew by.
She then decided to text Genya that she'll wait outside her house, Genya being the one who'll pick her up. Kanao took a deep breath as she walked down the stairs and made it outside. Fixing her hair a little as the minutes flew by.
The sun bathed the neighborhood in golden hues as Kanao stood at the entrance of her house, her heart racing. It wasn’t just the thrill of seeing exotic animals. it was the company she was with. Ever since he had intervened against the cheerleaders who tormented her, their path had twisted into something tender, something beautifully wild.
She heard the car tiles hit against the gravel and she titled her head up. She walked to the other side and got in the car, the two smiling at each other. But deep inside, the two were both incredibly nervous. Kanao was the first girl Genya's even been on a date with, while it was mostly the same on Kanao's side.

The moment that Kanao and Genya arrived at the zoo, Genya admitted how quick Kanao began to admire some of the animals there, the sound of many types of creatures and species around them. The sound of families and people around them. They began their day with cotton candy, laughter pouring out like the pink sugar that stuck to their fingers, sometimes Kanao wanted, always liking cotton candy when she was younger, while Genya wasn't the biggest fan on sweets sometimes.Kanao smiled shyly as they moved through the exhibits, her cheeks flushed from more than just the temperature. Each encounter with playful animals, a waddle of penguins, a pair of monkeys flipping through the air made her feel lighter, more carefree. Genya’s laughter rang out beside her, and she marveled at how much the boy she had once feared, had changed.
"Not all the rumors are that true now then..." She thought, the question finally answered in her head, the question she held from the beginning when they first met..

inally, they reached the butterfly exhibit, where Genya wanted them to go from the beginning. A secret garden where vibrant colors danced around them. Delicate wings fluttered, brushing her cheek as Kanao stepped deeper into the realm of beauty and wonder. It was here, enveloped in the gentle whispers of life, that the world around them faded away. There was a moment of hesitance, wanting to say something rather than let it hang in the air. Taking deep breaths, Genya turned to her, his expression softening, and in that moment shy words fell from their lips like petals.
“I... I really like you, Kanao. Though now knowing you...I wish I never treated you like I did in the beginning. You were kind and smart, loyal and shy. Your a good friend to everyone around you, you try your best in cheerleading, you try your best to stay around me. I really djd appreciate you as a friend but...I want to be more than just that...” His voice trembled, raw and earnest.
Kanao's face only had gone red, the way his words only filled with honesty. She wanted to say something for a while but the words didn't want to escape, she smiled though ...
"I really like you as well Genya ...yes I agree...we met in a strange way but...ever since you comforted me under the bleachers that day...I really did feel something. The way you offered to protect me from the girl's ...defending me for that one guy. How you treated me today....I really do like you back and .. I do wanna be with you .."
As the butterflies swirled around them, they drew closer, Kanao slowly wrapping her hands around Genya, pulling him into a hug at first before she felt Gebya lift her chin up a little. "May I?" He asked, Kanao blushing at the thought. She nodded and their lips met in a soft kiss that ignited like a spark. Breathless, they pulled apart, only to dive back into the sweet connection, their kisses deepening and weaving together promises untold. They were no longer the shy girl and the tough boy; they were two halves of a heart, finally threading into one vibrant whole. In that magical place, their laughter mingled with the flurry of wings, marking the beginning of forever.
"Come on, I'm pretty sure families are staring at us by now ..'
"Oh right!" They laughed and exit the small building and continued exploring. Their fingers slowly binding withe each other, their hands now together. Suddenly a question came out of the blue, allowing Kanao to be stuck in her thoughts for a moment,
"When we did started hanging out, it was because if those girl's...are you eve r gonna leave the cheer team..."
"I was thinking about it...but maybe this would be my last time performing for you, and then I'll probably join something else...."
"Tanjiro told me in the past you did soccer...maybe you can join the soccer team next year!"
"Yeah! Maybe!"
The grip of their hand sgrowing tighter...a new chapter opening up for the both of them ..
