AmurAfter we left my dad's office we got everything we would need for our journey through the Gans. A few sets of clothes if we got dirty, a few knives, and of course, Anthony got ambiguous amounts of food even though it was really only a day's trip.
Well, maybe a day trip. I'm guessing from the time I saved Timur in the Gans cause if he was in there for more than a day he would've probably died. And then again we had no guidance and had no idea where to go.
So here we stood at the border of the Gans with absolutely no plan but everything would come along as we went on.
"Is everyone ready?" I asked, stretching and getting ready to shift. Wren grunted and Anthony shot me a thumbs-up. I couldn't lie and say I wasn't a little nervous about what I was about to experience but I knew no fear if it meant saving Timur.
"Let's get this show on the road the faster we get there the closer we get to saving Timur and Slov... not to mention bashing some skulls in," Anthony and Wren his head in agreement, a slight grin on his face.
"Alright, let's go," I said but just as we were about to shift. I heard a rustling in a nearby bush. I quietly stalked toward the bush with narrowed eyes and a defensive position.
"Come out, if you don't I'll just come get you and I don't think you want that," I threatened, throwing one of my knives with utmost precision at the bush. I heard a loud squeal from a familiar voice before a person came tumbling out.
Carson came out of the bush much more calmly after Jade and slapped the back of his head. "You had one fucking job!"
"I'm sorry if I don't like getting stabbed and I didn't even want to come!" Jade cried out, his hands balled up at his sides. "Well this family reunion is great and all but neither of you is coming," I said, glaring at them.
I couldn't have them coming with me and getting hurt, possibly even killed. "Well, I don't care what you say, I'm coming! Everyone's been trying me and Jade like we're children when we're only a year younger than you! This is where we prove ourselves as you did with Timur," Carson said, letting out a breath.
Carson did have a point. I know how it felt to be treated like a child constantly. I was trying them like children and here I was trying them exactly like useless toddlers.
"Fine, you can come with us but if you get killed Carson I tell all the girls in town that you're a wimp that sleeps with stuffed animals and night light. Oh, and Jade I kill Rat," I said nonchalantly.
They both gasped in unison and Jade reared up a little bit. Rat was a muscly little rodent that went almost everywhere with Jade. I mean it only walked on its hind legs... creepy. But Jade needed Rat since he couldn't shift into an animal like the rest of us, a witch-enchanted rat to be able to carry the burden of Jade's power.
Jade could shift into a big muscly man but since his first form was so weak and he was so used to his skinnier form he couldn't take the weight of his bigger one. So Rat was there to take on the other half of his muscle so Jade's body wouldn't end up collapsing on itself when he shifted.
"I'm only agreeing to this cause I know you could never destroy my ego," Carson muttered under his breath.
"Alright, are we ready?" I asked. Once again Wren grunted and Anthony nodded while Carson grinned and Jade shook his head vigorously.
"Jade, are you ready?" I asked again. "No! Not at al-!" Before he could finish his sentence Carson cut him off. "Don't care, let's go!" He said before shifting. I grinned and the rest of us shifted to setting off on our journey.
