Zaden was hovering through the woods, rubbing two fingers against his eyes—one was hidden beneath the hanging tuft of fur over his head, while the other was shut below his finger, smeared with eyeliner that was even darker than his fur. His cheeks were covered with dark, glistening streaks from tears that he had shed.

He heard a rustle and paused, slowly looking up. The black, scrawny ferret fixed a tired, mournful gaze at the figure of Jedidiah in the distance.

Zaden almost made a meek noise as he saw the Supreme Cosmic Warrior. A mild look of alarm came over his face and he flicked his tail, causing the tears and smears over his face to disappear.

Jedidiah was standing in the small clearing of the woods, frown-smiling at the Feral Ferret standing on a mountain ledge, in the far distance. His vision was hyperextended so that he was meeting the creature's ferocious eyes. It held his gaze, bristling and baring its fangs, crouching on all fours and looking ready to spring forth.

"Heh," Jedidiah gave a daring grin, keeping his eye on the wild creature as he bent down, reaching forward for the glimmering, yellow rock on the ground.

As soon as he grabbed the rock, the Feral Ferret let out an earsplitting screech, summoned a black hole above its head, and leapt into it.

Jedidiah flicked his tail and summoned his own black hole—he disappeared into it and the black hole vanished as soon as a white hole appeared in place of where he had stood.

The Feral Ferret emerged from the white hole, snapping its teeth and slashing at the ground with fury.

Meanwhile, another white hole formed above the roof of a tall building, below a double-moonlit sky. Jedidiah jumped out of the white hole and landed on the roof. He and another tall, thin form were walking up to each other.

Miriana gave him her piercing, serious gaze. She was wearing a half-pink, half-purple fur coat and her stilettos—one pink and one purple— gave echoing taps as she made her way up to the black-footed ferret.

"Here ye go," Jedidiah handed her the rock. "Take good care of it."

A small, calm smile cracked from the corner of her jaw. "Of course, Supreme Warrior Jedidiah." She murmured respectfully.
