Jun falls for his secretive new neighbour, Wonwoo.
It was a cool autumn evening when Jun first noticed the new tenant moving into the apartment across the hall.
The building was old, nestled in a quiet corner of the city, and despite its dilapidated charm, it didn't see many new residents.
Most people who lived there had been around for years, each tenant familiar with the creaky floorboards and the sound of the heating system that rattled awake in the dead of winter.
So, when the sound of dragging boxes and hushed voices echoed through the hallway, Jun's curiosity was piqued.
From his kitchen window, Jun had a view of the building's narrow courtyard, lined with overgrown plants and chipped stone benches.
He leaned against the counter, staring out as he watched the dark-haired stranger lug a suitcase across the cracked cobblestones.
The man was tall and lean, his features partially obscured by the shadow of his hoodie pulled low over his eyes.
Jun caught the flash of his pale hands gripping the luggage, a stark contrast against the worn-out black fabric of his clothes.
"New guy?"
Jun muttered to himself, watching as the stranger disappeared into the building.
Jun didn't think much of it at first. People came and went all the time, though rarely in this building.
Still, something about the man stuck with him.
Maybe it was the way he moved, so deliberately, as if he wanted to avoid being seen.
Or maybe it was the almost ghostly air around him, as though he was trying to blend into the background of his own life.
For days, Jun caught glimpses of the man, who he later learned was named Wonwoo.
But it wasn't through any real conversation.
No, it was through small snippets he picked up, a passing delivery man or the landlord murmuring about the guy in 3C.
Wonwoo kept to himself. In fact, if Jun wasn't paying attention, he might not have even noticed his existence.
Wonwoo slipped in and out of his apartment like a shadow, always dressed in dark, oversized clothes that seemed to swallow him whole.
His head was often down, a hood or a beanie hiding most of his face, as if he wanted to disappear into the walls of the building.
But Jun noticed. He couldn't help it. There was something about the quiet mystery that hung around his new neighbor that drew him in.
It didn't make sense, he barely knew anything about the guy.
Yet, every time Jun saw Wonwoo, it was like his curiosity deepened, a strange pull urging him to find out more.
