Wonwoo invites Mingyu to study with him at the library, knowing Mingyu isn't much of a reader but thinking he'll enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Mingyu ends up falling asleep on Wonwoo's shoulder, leading to an accidental but comforting closeness they both enjoy.
The library was quiet, blanketed in the kind of stillness that promised a perfect study atmosphere.
Wonwoo pushed open the door with one hand, balancing a couple of books under his arm.
He glanced over his shoulder to see Mingyu trailing behind, looking around the place with wide eyes, slightly dazed as though he'd just stepped into an alien world.
"This place is nice."
Mingyu said, albeit uncertainly, eyeing the walls lined with shelves upon shelves of books.
He looked like he didn't know what to do with his hands, letting them swing loosely at his sides as he followed Wonwoo deeper into the library.
"See? I told you."
Wonwoo replied, a slight smile playing on his lips.
He knew Mingyu wasn't much of a reader, or much of a studier in general, if he was being honest.
But there was something about the library's quiet atmosphere that he thought might appeal to him, that calming sense of being tucked away from the world.
Mingyu could use a break from his usual energy; a little time here would be good for him.
After a few minutes of browsing, Wonwoo found a table by the window, bathed in a soft, late-afternoon light.
He set his books down and took a seat, glancing over as Mingyu sank into the chair next to him.
Mingyu gave a small, shy smile, folding his arms over the table and leaning forward.
"I'll try not to bother you."
Mingyu said, rubbing the back of his neck, almost sheepish.
Wonwoo chuckled, shaking his head.
"You could never bother me, Mingyu."
He opened his textbook, glancing over the first page before pulling out a notebook.
He tried to focus on his reading, but his attention kept drifting back to Mingyu, who was looking around the library as if it were something precious and unfamiliar.
Every now and then, he caught Mingyu's eyes darting to him, studying him in the same quiet way he was studying the room.
Minutes passed, stretching into an hour, and a comfortable silence grew between them.
Wonwoo became absorbed in his book, his hand absently scrawling notes in the margins.
Mingyu had, surprisingly, stayed still, his head resting on his folded arms, his breathing slowing until Wonwoo noticed he'd gone completely silent.
