Rheas POV

"Morning!!" I called out, smiling at Frank, my work buildings security guard.

"Good morning Rhea, my wife loved that cherry pie recipe you gave me." Frank replied.

"Oh I'm so glad to hear that just give me a shout if you would like my peach pie recipe next and tell Marie I was asking for her." I grinned back at him as I scanned my keycard and made my way hurriedly to the elevator as it was about to close.

I smiled as Katie, a girl from the journalist department, held the door for me.

"Thanks Katie! How's your cats doing?"

"Buttons is great but Mitsey keeps getting in fights with the other neighbourhood cats, I don't know what her problem is!" Katie said sighing.

"It's okay Mitsey's just in her rebellious teen phase." I laughed.

Jumping off at my floor I waved goodbye to Katie as well.

Making my way towards my office I greeted the other staff who were already in and stopped in the break room to make myself a cup of raspberry tea.

Sitting down in my desk chair I logged onto my computer and started preparing my script for this mornings weather reading.

It was something that fascinated me, weather. So unpredictable but somehow through science humans managed to make sense of it, never control it but learn from it. I loved that, ever since I was young every morning I'd wake up early to watch the 6am news and see the weather report, then I'd patiently wait through the rest of the day to see if the predictions were right.

I know it initially sounds very monotonous and dreary but 8 year old me found it the most fascinating thing, which is why present 24 year old me is sitting in this office preparing the 6am weather report myself.

I had matched the weather predictions to my outfit today, as it was forecasted to be sunny and clear skies I was wearing a yellow sundress, matching dangly sun earrings and chunky wedge sandals to top it off, they gave my usual 5'5 stature an extra 4 inches.

8 year old Rhea would be very proud of the on brand fashion choices to say the least.

"Rhea your on in 30 minutes, just a warning! Also have you signed up to any of the sports day events yet?" Poppy, my best friend and coincidental office assistant asked waltzing in my already open door.

"Thanks Pops and about the sports day thing, are you really sure everyone has to go because I feel like for the greater good I shouldn't." I whined taking another sip of my tea.

"Yesss remember how fun last year was?!" Poppy smiled mischievously.

"You mean when I face planted in front of the entire accounting department during the tug of war, yeah it was a whale of a time!" I replied sarcastically.

"Please Rhea! This year will be different and we won't sign up for the tug of war, promise." Poppy giggled, despite her teasing she was a sincerely good friend.

And for that, maybe also because I had a slight people pleasing issue I agreed.

"Fine I'll sign up but if anyone dies due to my lack of hand to eye coordination skills I'm pinning the blame on you, you're officially my scapegoat" I said dramatically pointing at her.

"Yay!!" Poppy said before trying to imitate a goats bleating sounds, it sounded more like a goat going into cardiac arrest but the effort was there.

"Go do your job!" I laughed shooing her out my office.
