Yuzu: (Mmm... Everyone's been gone for a long time. I-I'm not comfortable with being alone with our guest...)
Arisu (?): ...Hey.
Yuzu: U-Uh, y-yes?!
Arisu (?): Were you guys the ones who made Tales Saga Chronicle?
Yuzu: Y-Yeah...
Arisu (?): Then, can I play it again?
Yuzu: ...!! (happy face) S-Sure! Let me get it ready!
[After a quick setup and reboot, Arisu (?) begins replaying the game while Yuzu watches her play.]
Arisu (?): (playing the game) ...Say, UZQueen.
Yuzu: Huh?
Arisu (?): Can you tell me more about this game? What are your thoughts on it?
Yuzu: Oh... Well, it's the first game I ever created. When I released the first version, I received a lot of bad feedback... it almost pushed me never to make another game again. But then Momoi and Midori came along and told me how much they liked it. Since then, we finished Tales Saga Chronicle and- (hesitates) W-Well... everyone in the club said my game was fun, and I'm happy with how it turned out.
Arisu (?): Hmm... No wonder it got "Worst Game of the Year."
Yuzu: (surprised face) ...!?
Arisu (?): (pulls out the article from the HIT GIRLS 7th edition magazine) "What a trash game," "Too many story tangents," "Not worth playing again LOL," as far as the review comments go.
Yuzu: (shocked face) (Uh... she knew about those!?)
Arisu (?): In my first playthrough, this game leaves much to be offered in terms of gameplay, narrative, and organization in general. For instance, the tutorial doesn't prepare you for the hardest parts of the first level, and over there, it's hard to understand why romancing the mother was an option in the first place...
Yuzu: (closed eyes + pale expression) ...
[After hearing blow after blow, Yuzu collapses to the ground and lies curled up like a ball.]
Yuzu: (Ugh... I know about how bad people talked about Tales Saga Chronicle, but never like this before, especially since she has the same face as Arisu... I... I don't want to be here right now...)
Arisu (?): (notices Yuzu lying on the ground in tatters) *sigh* ...and despite all that, I wouldn't change a thing that's already here.
Yuzu: ...? (gets up and hears Arisu (?) continue talking)
Arisu (?): UZQueen, I tend to believe a game doesn't need to make a good 1st impression, but it should give people a good reason to play it over and over again. As I would like to call it, "Replayability over Presentation!"
Yuzu: (amazed face) ...
Arisu (?): For Tales Saga Chronicle, it currently has NEITHER of the two.
Yuzu: (shocked face + depressed face) ...!! (falls to her knees)
Arisu (?): In the world of video games, people that make trash games are deemed to be trash. On the other hand, those who give up on the game their first try don't deserve to play it. What should motivate gamers and creators to start games in the 1st place shouldn't be recognition, but the joy and fun they can bring in playing the game.
Yuzu: (confused face) ...I-If what you say is true, why are you playing it again?
Arisu (?): (smug face) ...I just feel likeclearing everything the game has to offer.
