Training With Quinlan Vos

Noooooo! I heard the most horrible news, James Earl Jones is dead.

Luke and Lita: FATHER!

RIP JAMES EARL JONES You were a force to be reckon with and now you have become one with the Force!

Quinlan wanted to make sure Lita was fully aware of their basic training and how to proceed. He was going to first teach Lita how to focus on using the Force in unison and to learn the difference between the light and the dark.

"Now Lita as I mentioned to you before the dark side isn't bad in nature, unless it is being utilize for evil," Quinlan began. "The Force is one, it is of both light and darkness. The Jedi, who removed themselves from the darkness and only worked with the light side, while didn't inherently hurt the Force itself, but this did hurt their ability to be in harmony with it. Have you ever heard of the Night Sisters?"

"Yes, I remember learning about them in my studies back home on Naboo," Lita said, "Weren't they also called the Witches of Dathomir?"

"Yes, they were," Quinlan said, "They were also a very powerful clan as they worked in unison with the Force. But the Sith, who now rule the galaxy, have been hurting the Force by corrupting it with their evil and lived in spite of it."

"What do you mean by that?" Lita asked.

"I mean they use emotions like anger and hate to thrive," Quinlan explained.

Lita frowns wondering how often her father or even the Emperor did that. She knows how evil the Emperor and while she never saw necessarily saw her father as evil, Lita knew he was lost and had forgotten who he really was.

"Using the dark side and your emotions are fine," Quinlan states, "However if you were ever to step over that line into evilness, into obsession and excessive passion it would only inhibit you to a life full of suffering."

"Just like my father," Lita replies frowning.

"Yes," Quinlan answers grimly.

Quinlan continued to explain that the Force required balance and while the Jedi did hurt ability to be in harmony with it, they still existed within the balance the Force and never stepped over the line. Lita listened carefully to what he was saying.

For the next three months Lita and Quinlan, along with Rori and D3PO, would learn to live off the land. They made sure to avoid interactions with anyone else, and they would become harmonious with the Force, which was vital to Lita's training.

One day Quinlan was teaching Lita how to harvest her emotions for positivity when she heard an ear piercing ringing that continued to interfere with her thinking.

"I'm sorry Master I'm trying to listen, but I'm having trouble focusing there's this ear piercing ringing in my head that's making it difficult for me to concentrate."

Quinlan, knowing what it was said, "Then I encourage you to follow the call and then take what called to you."

"Yes, Master," Lita said, getting up off the ground, "Are you coming too?"

"No," Quinlan answers, "This is something you must do alone. I will wait here, along with your droid and nexu."

Lita was at first hesitant, but did as Quinlan said. For the next hour Lita ventured through the different sections of the Jedi Temple and as the ringing got louder she discovered a crystal was lodged into a wall. Lita used the Force to remove the crystal from the wall and she held it close to her face.

"A kyber crystal?" Lita questioned, remembering what her father told her about them, how it gives life to lightsabers. "Well Master Quinlan did tell me to bring back what was calling me so that's what I'll do."

Lita then returned to Quinlan, Rori and D3PO to show them the kyber crystal.

"I found it Master," Lita states and showed him the kyber crystal.

Quinlan smiled, "It is time."

Lita knew Quinlan meant to build her lightsaber, her second lightsaber. Lita took out her lightsaber that her father made for her and frowned. Does this mean I have to give up the lightsaber I have? I don't think I can do that. Father built this for me.

Quinlan, sensing his apprentice's concern, gave a reassuring smile and said, "You don't have to get rid of your red lightsaber, but I wouldn't be using it around others as they will get the wrong impression of you."

Lita nods and said, "Thank you Master Quinlan."

Quinlan nods with a smile. "Now let us begin building you your new lightsaber."

Then Lita and Quinlan went through the outpost, collecting the pieces that could help Lita construct her lightsaber. Once they collected all the pieces, they returned to their spot where Lita could begin.

"Remember to focus and quiet your mind," Quinlan told her.

"Yes Master," Lita said.

Lita was meditating as she was using the Force to construct her new lightsaber. Once she was finished she ignited a purple lightsaber.

Well there you have it. Lita has a new lightsaber and it's purple. In the next chapter, Lita will reunite with the Ghost Crew, with Quinlan, and will meet Ahsoka. Until then May The Force Be With You!
