"What happened yesterday?" Mr.Bennet asked from the other side of the line
"Nothing serious. There have been some intruders. They might have followed me here or something" I assured. Even though yesterday was a bit dramatic, complaining won't do anything.
"Be at the headquarters within two hours" ordering, he abruptly ended the call without waiting for my response.
I tossed the phone onto the bed and let out a frustrated groan, it's been only six hours since he called a meeting, and it backfired. Taking one last glance at the clock on my nightstand I changed into a blazer, Lena had laid out for me to wear.
"Winda—oh you are leaving already," Lena's sudden voice caught me off guard.
"Ah, yeah. Next mission on board" I replied, turning around to look at the mirror.
My hair has started growing faster than usual, brushing out the knots with my fingers I turned around to face Lena again.
"You've been distant," Lena said in a monotonous voice as she took out the dead flowers from the vase and replaced them with some kind of blue ones "These are aster flowers," she said seeing me stare
"I'm leaving" Sliding my phone to my back pocket I rushed out of the room.
"Morning" I put on a tight smile as I entered Mr.Bennet's cabin. Meetings in the morning are the worst torture a person can ever get.
"Morning, have a seat" Mr.Bennet smiled, motioning his hand to have a seat in front of his desk "he begged to bring him along" he chuckled slightly, focusing on something behind me
I looked over my shoulder. He was there. Ezekiel. With the ugliest smile, I've ever seen on a human being.
"Morning" Ezekiel came over to my side "Hope you had a great sleep" Winking, he seated himself on the chair. He ran his hand over his hair and pulled out a strand making it fall right above his eyebrow.
I bit my tongue, restraining myself from giving a reaction. Sitting on the chair beside Ezekiel, I shot a glare at him.
Mr.Bennet cleared his throat, giving off an air of importance. "Today is the last day you are staying as rivals. After this meeting, I need you two to stay on good terms no matter what" he paused. If I'd known what he would say next, I would've jumped out of the window. "You are leaving for South Korea in three days, Winda."
My breath hitched. I felt like the world was crashing around me or was that my heart? A rush of fear spread across my chest making it harder to breathe.
"I can't" My voice was merely a whisper.
"I know how much you despise that place. But you have to. At least once you have to face your fears" Mr.Bennet's sound was so far away from comforting me.
I gripped the chair with all the might I had in me. Suddenly it felt like the seven-year-old little girl inside me, the one I've been trying to keep hidden was pulled out and now I can't do anything.
"Why there?" I asked, keeping my head straight, not meeting Mr.Bennet's eyes
"He is there. We need to end him from where he got brought up" Every calmness in his voice had disappeared.
"Weapons?" my hand started to sweat from the grip I had on the chair
"Gunsmiths and weaponologists are already done with the work, they just need you to place your hands on them" There was a hint of a smile in his voice
I let out a shaky breath. What else can I do? It's not like I can ever say no. what the hell did I do to deserve this?
"You'll be alright" Ezekiel's voice was strangely calm. "I'm here" he placed his cold hands over mine
