Oh, Todoroki. I really expected better from you.
There they are, it was really simple.... Bakugo screamed at me then send me back to basecamp alone cause he thought it was more importantly to hunt down Aizawa and what was I doing? I was looking for my next target instead of staying at basecamp. I did find some... I found Todoroki and his team, trudging through the undergrowth like they actually know what they're doing. Todoroki's at the front, cool and composed as usual. A couple of our classmates—Yaoyorozu and Jiro—are with him, scanning the surroundings, probably thinking they're hot on Aizawa's trail.
They aren't.
They think they're closing in on Aizawa, but I've been two steps ahead the entire time.
I crouch low in the brush, watching them move deeper into the forest. Everything's in place—an elaborate series of traps I've been setting up for the last hour, just waiting for them to walk right into the web. I almost feel bad for them. Almost.
Then again, it's not my fault they can't keep up.
Todoroki's sharp, though. He's moving with purpose, his expression cold and calculating. There's no doubt in my mind that he's fully prepared to face Aizawa head-on. The problem is... I'm not Aizawa.
And this is going to be a lot more fun.
I wait until they're right where I want them—just a few more steps forward and...
Snap.
The first trap springs. A net bursts from the ground, tangling around Jiro's legs and lifting her off the ground before she can react. She struggles, but it's futile. Before Yaoyorozu can even think about creating something to help, the second trap goes off—a series of wires whip through the trees, wrapping around her wrists and ankles, yanking her to the ground with a thud.
Todoroki barely reacts. His face remains impassive as he glances at his teammates.
Impressive, I guess.
He's keeping his cool....or he doesn't know what emotions are.... ROBOT ALLERT!
But even Todoroki won't be able to keep it together for long. Not once I'm done with him.
I spring from the bushes, landing silently behind him before he even realizes I'm there.
Me: Hey, Todoroki.
He spins, eyes wide with surprise for just a second before his expression hardens. Ice begins to form under his feet, spreading rapidly toward me. I guess I must have kinda surprised him and maybe scared him too... why else did he actually attack one of his men?
Todoroki: Midoriya. What are you doing here?
Playing the villain. Obviously.
I dodge to the side, narrowly avoiding the ice creeping up the trees. The cold bites at my skin, but I grin.
Oh, you know. Just having a little fun. You're getting predictable.
Me: Oh... ahm... how do I say this..... I decided to join the villain side since there is no rule against it.....
Todoroki narrows his eyes and shoots a blast of fire in my direction since I kinda showed that I would use my quirk.... this is called baiting...., but I'm already moving. Without using my quirk, I slip behind him again, my fist connecting with his ribs before he can fully react.
Let's see how he handles a real fight.
Todoroki staggers, his breath hitching as I follow up with a kick to his shin, forcing him to his knees. He's tough, though. He won't go down that easily.
Todoroki: You're fighting without your quirk? Why?
Me: Why not? Quirks are overrated.
He tries to get back on his feet, but I sweep his legs out from under him, pinning him to the ground with a well-placed knee on his chest. He struggles, managing to summon a burst of ice to try and push me off, but I've already anticipated it. I slam my elbow into his arm, and he lets out a sharp cry of pain.
That's a broken arm.
Oops.
My bad.
I tilt my head, studying him as he lies there, breathing heavily, his face twisted in pain.
Me: Sorry, Todoroki. Looks like you're sitting out for the rest of this round.
Before he can respond, I hit him with a sharp strike to the temple, knocking him out cold.
Quirkless and victorious.
Maybe next time, Todoroki.
I glance around, making sure no one else is nearby. Jiro and Yaoyorozu are still struggling with the traps both being quite far and a bit covered by all the wood around us, but they're too preoccupied anyways to notice what just happened. Perfect. I move quickly, hoisting Todoroki's unconscious form into one of the pre-set traps, leaving him bound and hidden in the trees.
Now, for the grand finale.
Time to make sure no one gets suspicious.
I jog ahead, setting off one of the traps I'd left for Bakugo's team. A net flies up, wrapping around my legs and hoisting me off the ground again..... I could easily get out of it, but that's not the plan.
Me: BAKUGO! A little help here!
I knew he was close by which was making all this quite simple and fun to play around. I loved how my heart was beating soo fast cause I could have been caught... keyword could have been.... I wasn't.
It doesn't take long before Bakugo comes crashing through the underbrush, explosions flaring in his hands. He looks up at me, dangling helplessly in the net, and smirks.
Bakugo: You're an idiot, Deku. Can't even avoid a trap twice?
Me: Yeah, yeah. Just get me down. Before Aizawa finds me.... otherwise I am out too!
He blasts the net apart with a well-aimed explosion, and I drop to the ground, landing with a thud. I groan for effect, rubbing my neck as I stand up.
Me: Thanks. Remind me to return the favor.
Bakugo snorts, clearly enjoying my misfortune, and turns to head back into the trees.
Bakugo: Try not to get caught again, nerd or I will personally send you off to the other side.... HELP the others out. I don't have time for this shit.
Oh, Bakugo.
If only you knew....
And as if...
You really think I will do that?
Let them hang...
As he walks away, I can't help but grin to myself. Everything's going exactly as planned. Todoroki's out, the others are tangled up in their own mess, and no one suspects a thing.
This game is way too easy.
