Chapter 15 Expectation

When I woke up, Lily was leaning on my shoulder, and I tried to wake her up. 
 
"Lily, wake up; it's already morning."
"What time is it?"
"Its 7am in the morning."
"I don't have a job right now, and it's only four days before our mission."
"March 30, I won't see you leave, and I won't see you in your suit."
"What do you mean?"
"I have an important meeting, so I can't leave."
"It's ok, Lily; you can see our rocket in your building."
"Yeah, but I want to hug you before you leave. What if you stay longer on your mission? Of course I'll miss you."
"It's the first time I hear from you that you will miss me."
"Of course you're the only friend of mine who understands me."
"Ow, ok, I get it."
 
Lily really only thinks of me as a friend, but that's ok with me.
      
"Do you have work now, Lily?"
"I don't have work right now; my secretary is taking care of all the paper work for the meeting."
"So we both don't have work today; do you want to go to the park or the beach we went to before?"
"It's ok with me; what time do we leave?"
"It's still early; let's have breakfast first."
"Make me pancakes again."
"Sure"
        
While I was making pancakes, Lily asked me
        
"Rome, I have a question for you."
"What's it?
"What is true love to you?"
"True love...for me, true love is someone who takes care of you and only sees you and will do everything to make you happy."
"That's why you're always there for me."
"Of course because I like you, Lily."
"I know you like me and love me, but this is not the right time."
"I know, Lily, I'm ready to wait no matter how long it takes."
"Are my pancakes ready?" 
"Yep, it's ready to eat."
    
I don't know how Lily really feels about me, but it seems when I talk to her, I feel like she likes me too, or maybe I just expected her to like me.
        
"Are you ready, Lily? We are leaving now."
"Yep, I'm ready."
       
As we left the dormitory, I asked Lily if she wanted to walk or take the bus.
        
"Do you want to walk or take the bus?"
"Let's take a bus so we won't be tired when we get there."
"Yep, you're right."
        
We got on the bus, and the bus was empty, so we were the first passengers. 
        
"Wow, we are the only passengers."
"Yep, let's sit here."
"What are we going to do there, Rome?"
"Oh, my friend told me that there is a bike rental there so we can go around while biking."
"Wow, that looks fun."
"I know that's why I want to try it."
 
We arrived at the place, and I didn't expect it to be beautiful here.
        
"Wow, it's beautiful here."
"It seems even better here than the beach we went to before."
 
It was my first time to go here; fortunately, I asked my friend where there was a good view.
        
"Is this your first time here, Rome? You look amazing."
"Ow yeah, it's my first time here, so my face is like this."
"So where is the bike rental here?"
"Just follow me, Lily."
"Okay"
       
While we were looking for the bike rental, I noticed the beautiful trees.
        
"Lily, let's go there; I'll take a picture of you."
"I don't like people taking pictures of me."
"So you think of me as a stranger?"
"I just don't want to."
"Oh, ok, this is also a memory."
"There's next time Rome cheers up."
 
She seems to have changed a bit, but I'll let her go if she doesn't want to
    
"We are here, Lily."
"Can we rent this so we can see the beautiful views together?"
"Oh sure, this is also what I want to rent so you won't be left behind."
"Sir, can we rent this tandem bike?"
"Yeah, sure, its only 100 dollars."
"So what time can we return it?"
"There is no time; my shop is open 24 hours a day, so you can return at anytime."
"Wow, that's cool."
"Be careful, you two."
   
I noticed that the owner of the shop looked like someone, but I didn't pay much attention to it.
        
"So where do you want to go, Lily?
"Anywhere, as long as the view is good, I'm ok." 
 
While we biked, I told Lily that I knew a better view than this
        
"Lily, I know where we are going."
"I hope it's not far because I'm tired already."
"It's not far; we'll be there in 3 minutes."
"I'm tired, Rome."
        
We arrived at the place I was talking about, and we saw a beautiful view, and the swans went along with it.
        
"It's beautiful here."
"I told you it's beautiful here."
"It was worth the effort I thought would be wasted."
"Lily, did you know that when a swan's partner dies, a swan will no longer look for others, and its partner can also commit suicide?"
"I know, but other swans can still repair."
"Yep, but that's a good example of true love because the swan symbolizes love."
"Wow, I didn't know that."
"Yep, if one of us dies, I won't look for another."
"Wow, you seem to want me to die."
"No, its just an example."
"But I hope if your example happens, don't really look for someone else."
"What?"
"I said swans are cute; that's how their life goes."
"Yeah, they are cute."
 
I hope our mission will be okay, and I feel like I just want to be a simple person with a simple job so I can be with you every day, and I don't want that; I want it for the rest of my life.
