The music echoed throughout the upscale club, famous among the elite and celebrities. This meant that anyone who came to enjoy themselves here had to be a person of wealth, fame, and considerable power. Right now, the star attraction drawing attention was a young man with golden blonde hair, sitting and drinking with a group of friends. His smile captivated the hearts of many young men who had come to this place. Although they wanted to make a connection, none dared to approach him, as they were intimidated by the bodyguard standing behind him, indicating that this young man had an extraordinary background. However, it wasn't that no one dared to approach him. A tall, muscular bodyguard immediately moved to block the way when a young man walked over to the table.
"What's going on? I'm just here to say hello to Mr Danil, as an acquaintance," the young man who approached said, causing Danil, the star of the night, to smile slightly at the corner of his lips.
"That's fine," Danil said to his bodyguard. His bodyguard then stepped aside but remained close to their boss.
"Hello, Dylan," Danil greeted the other party, glancing sideways. His posture, with his legs crossed and holding a wine glass, made many feel as if Danil was a fierce queen. Some viewed him like a cute kitten that one would want to pet, but it was a risk to approach, as he was a proud and haughty cat.
"Hello, Mr Danil. Have you been here long?" Dylan asked in return.
"A little while," Danil replied. He knew Dylan because they had met at social events when he attended with his family. If asked whether they were allies, Danil would say no because Dylan's family had been at odds with his family since their grandparents' generation. Although there had been no direct conflicts, they had occasionally interfered with each other's business.
"By the way, I haven't seen Mr Ivan at the FS club lately. I wonder if he's busy," Dylan mentioned, causing Danil's hand, which was about to lift the wine glass for a sip, to pause slightly as he tightened his grip on the stem of the glass to suppress his emotions. The FS club that Dylan referred to was a place that catered to the intimate needs of high society and powerful people, allowing them to avoid those who wanted to form attachments with the clientele. Ivan was Danil's older brother, a weapons dealer who ran a business with three other partners and was a very influential figure in this country, RS. Danil felt irritated by Dylan's words for reasons he could not disclose.
"Sure, that's quite normal. Because Brother Ivan is very busy with work. As they say, when business is good, there's little time for leisure," Danil replied with a smile, which made Dylan pause slightly. He knew well that Danil was implying that Dylan had no work. Thus, he had time to socialize. Dylan looked at Danil with a glint in his eye before glancing at the person next to Danil for a moment, then turned back to Danil as before.
"Mr. Danil probably wants to enjoy time with friends. I'll take my leave then. Let's meet again," Dylan said, slightly bowing his head to Danil before walking away. Danil shook his head in mild annoyance.
"Hey, Danil, aren't you thinking of having a little fun with Dylan? He's good-looking, and his background matches yours," a female friend named Lana teased.
"Right, a little fun wouldn't hurt," said another friend, a gay girl named Lenin, who was Lana's twin. Danil waved his hand dismissively.
"No way, I don't want to get kicked out of my family just yet," Danil replied, then looked at another gay friend named Luka, who was playing on his phone. Danil's group mainly consisted of four people: Danil, Luka, and the twin sisters, Lana and Lenin, though there were a few other friends as well.
"I'm going to the bathroom for a moment," Luka said before getting up and walking away from the table. Danil watched Luka leave with an unreadable expression in his eyes.
