Her heart pounded as she noticed the way her partner slightly stumbled across the car park. Realistically she should have known that he would've been at the very least slightly intoxicated but there was always a slither of hope in her that one day he would be sober.

Despite what she would have expected he didn't seem angry, he didn't have that all too familiar look of malice in his eyes as he stared at her. He didn't seem soft or kind but something else that she couldn't put her finger on. He seemed almost.. excited? As he became face to face with her he reached his hand out to grab her arm and she immediately flinched away awaiting the strong grip and the hand shaped bruise that would form not long after but nothing happened. He ever so gently rested his hand on her arm, it was almost comforting.

"I have a surprise for you." her breath caught in her throat, he had told her this before and had been met with abuse and torment. The word 'surprise' simply sent shivers down the blondes spine. The one and only thing than kept her from throwing up on the spot was the knowledge that she would escape today, that this would be the last time she would ever be hurt by the hands of this wretched man. "Come on Siobhan." he tugged on her arm, indicating that he wanted her to get into the car and she instantly obeyed. She wanted to cherish this small moment of the Roger she once knew, the man who she had briefly fallen in love with so long ago. Maybe if she disappeared on a happier note it would make the transition so much easier.

She could practically feel the stares from Marjorie burning through her skin. Their conversation from earlier that day had replayed in her mind over and over again, wishing that she had opened up, that she had given herself the chance of a happy life before running away. In truth that was all she ever did, run away. When she was a teenager, she had run away from home after her father had come home far too many nights in a drunken rage. You would have believed that her mother would have stuck up for the young girl, that she would have protected her from him but she was not that kind of woman. Siobhan's mother was not the loving, soft mother would who cradle her until she fell asleep after a nightmare or braid her hair for her the morning before school. She was the kind of woman who taught her daughter the more traditional ways of living, treating her daughter as if she was a pawn in some game.

Often she would drill into her mind that men were the superior beings, that she should always submit to them and follow their orders. Marriage was nothing but an economic proposition and that she should always be the traditional housewife once she did marry. She truly believed that this was the reason she had so blindly trusted Roger and stuck by his side for so long even after all the abuse she had faced. In her mind this was how she should be treated.

Throughout her entire life, Siobhan had always blamed herself for everything that had happened to her, every bad choice she ever made but she was slowly starting to realise that she was nothing but a product of her environment.

"Siobhan. Siobhan? Siobhan!" without noticing she had been trapped in her own mind, reliving the traumas from her childhood, completely blocking out reality. His sharp, cruel tone quickly snapped her out of her trance as she realised that they were now home.

"I'm sorry." she didn't even feel the need to explain herself, to try and defend wherever she had disappeared to because in her head it didn't matter anymore. In just a few hours she would be free, she could handle whatever torment he had planned for her this evening.

"Right come on." he was being oddly gentle with her and it unnerved her severely.

The pair made their way out of the car and towards the front door of their mansion. The steep steps that lead up to their front door would haunt her forever, her mind rushing with unwanted memories whenever she returned home.

The older man swiftly placed his arm around the blondes waist the moment she had exited the vehicle and she immediately felt her entire body tense under his touch. Her entire body stiff, they made their way into the freezing, dark house. A shiver ran through her entire body as the man before her grinned widely at her, it felt unnatural and wrong.
