I Heart You Too (Including You Shadow)

Chapter one: Early mornings and unsuccessful missions

It wasn't exactly a peaceful morning in Green hills...

Sonic and the gang was back at it again with another battle. The trio that consisted of Sonic, Knuckles and Tails were battling against Eggman or better known as Robotnicks.

And apparently he wasn't alone. He'd brought some new creature that looked similar to Sonic— his name was Shadow the hedgehog and he was WAY stronger than ANY of them.

"Jeez it's like we can't find a blind spot for this guy- it's like he knows our every attack" Sonic said wearily regaining consciousness after being thrown against a rock.

"He is a highly intelligent and more advanced than well— all of us! Solo attacks won't work!"

Tails, the youngest brother hovered over Sonic helping him up his tail holding both support as it lifted them in the air. "We already lost Knuckles so it's just us.." He said as Shadow approached them.

"He's like...You if you were more serious! Uh- no offense" He added quickly realizing he'd slightly insulted Sonic. Sonic, now on his feet just let out an exhausted sigh rubbing the back of his head while looking over at Shadow who was making his way over to them.

"None taken... And yes I can see the resemblance, it's actually kinda creepy" He responded to Tail before looking back over at Shadow and narrowing his eyes, readying himself for another attack. "I wish I had my weapons they would have been really use- watch out!" Tails shoved Sonic our of the way just as Shadow attacked and blasted Tails with a blaster.

"This is almost too easy and this egghead said it would take all day you two aren't as powerful as I thought.." Shadow spoke making direct eye contact with Tails who struggled to get up.

Damn. If only they were ready for this attack. That's what Sonic hates more than anything and it was surprise attacks. Sonic was sent stumbling to the ground after being pushed out of the way and watched as Shadow attacked Tail— who was sent flying backwards.

"TAILS, NO!" He called out in a worried and panicked tone, his eyes widening as he watched his best friend get attacked.

Sonic quickly got up on his feet with a glare, his emerald eyes narrowing as he watched Shadow speaking, his voice and ego making him irritated and annoyed

"Don't underestimate me, faker— and leave Tails out of this." Shadow wasn't phased by Sonic's sudden seriousness as he tossed the gun away. "It's about damn time you took this seriously"

The black and red hedgehog let out a dry chuckle. "Sonic be careful I'm picking up some strong energy I'm surprised my tracker could even trace it!" Tails yelled before tossing Sonic a ring.

"Once you get Shadow in a spot use the ring it'll teleport him..." He said holding his waist already beaten up and drained for the hour. Sonic nodded to Tails understanding what the fox meant, he was grateful for the ring but was also concerned about Tails, he was beat up pretty badly already and it was barely midday.

Sonic clenched his fist and got into a fighting position as he watched Shadow approach him, his expression now stern.

"You asked for this faker" He said in a more serious and determined tone, not breaking eye contact with the black and red hedgehog. Shadow raised an eyebrow before teleporting and disappearing. "Not this again.." Tails mumbled ready to protect his older brother.

The second Tails looked away Shadow appeared behind Sonic and slammed him into the ground and went to attack Tails for the third time grabbing his neck and slamming him into a wall. "Weak. Both of you." He said coldly staring Tails baby blue eyes.

"Sonic is NOT. WEAK."

Tails replied in the same tone as Shadow scoffed and released Tails approaching Sonic. "This'll be over quickly and I can guarantee you that."

The tension became more serious than before as Shadow made eye contact with Sonic just like he did with Tails. Sonic, who'd been slammed into the ground got up slowly still a little dazed from the impact, but his annoyance and determination was far greater than any pain he was feeling.

He heard Shadow approach him and could feel his presence, slowly standing up and looking up at the taller and stronger hedgehog.

His emerald eyes met Shadow's red ones and the tension between the two was undeniable. They were sizing each other up, neither willing to back down. Tails opened his eyes slightly before looking at the floor with dizzy vision and noticed a shiny ring on the ground.

He shakily reached and picked it up and slid it under Shadow watching as a portal opened and within seconds Shadow disappeared through it and the orange ring closed.

Tails sighed in relief as he rested his head against his arm "He was right I guess that was quick" he chuckled before attempting to stand up and walked over to Sonic dropping down besides him.

"You okay Big Bro?" He fox asked genuinely concerned for Sonic as he helped him up. Sonic was a bit dazed from the previous fight but managed to regain his bearings quickly. He looked over at Tails who was now helping him stand.

He let out a sigh of relief and nodded to the concerned fox. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just a little beat up, nothing I can't handle" he said, trying to brush off the seriousness of the situation.

He glanced around their surroundings before looking back at Tails. "Thanks for the ring, you really saved my fur. He nearly had me there."

"Of course can't let my bro die by a copycat of him." Tails joked before leaning against Sonic. "We should check on Knuckles..." He said worried for his other big brother who was nowhere to be seen.

But of course Knuckles was completely uninjured. Maybe a few bruises here and there but nothing major.

"Are you two alright?" He asked sliding down a rock and picked up Tails holding him in his arms. "I fear that Hedgehog was way too powerful..Even for me" He said frowning slightly. Sonic nodded in agreement, still feeling the effects of their battle with Shadow.

"Yeah, we're a little beat up but we'll be alright..." he said before turning to look at Knuckles.

"And yeah, Shadow was a tough opponent... he's different than any other enemy we've fought before" Sonic replied before looking at Tails who was now being cradled by Knuckles. "Hm.. He's out cold..May need to rest for a while." Knuckles said after a while and his eyes narrowed looking at Tails then back at Sonic.

"Maddie could patch him up..After that we could look into this.. Enemy.."

The red alien said softly referring to their adoptive parents. Tom and Maddie. (Sonic knew them longer than Knuckles and Tails) "And hopefully get Wade's help in tracking this beast." He added and began finding a way out of the rubble and debris. Sonic nodded again, agreeing with Knuckles' plan. "Yeah, Maddie and Tom can take care of Tails... and Wade can definitely be a big help."

He looked around at the destruction caused by their battle with Shadow, taking in the damage before following Knuckles and helping look for a way out.

"I just hope we're prepared for whatever comes next..." he said, a hint of worry in his voice...
