Chapter four: Arrangements

The Duo arrived at Wade's house.

It wasn't that far but it wasn't a short walk either. As if he was expecting them Wade opened the door and stepped outside.

"Oh hey you guys! What are you doing here? Didn't expect ya" He said putting his hands on his hips. "Good evening Wade we are here for help." Knuckles said getting straight to the point.

Without a word Wade let them in and led them to the garage. "Welcome to the Wade cave! What do you need help with?" He asked turning on the lights in the room. Knuckles exchanges glances with Sonic giving him the 'should I tell him or should you?' look. Sonic looked around the garage, taking in the various gadgets and equipment that Wade had scattered around. He turned back to Wade and scratched the back of his head.

"Well, it's kind of a long story, but basically-" he began, but was quickly interrupted by Knuckles.

"We need you to track down a specific individual and acquire information on them." Knuckles cut in, giving a direct and concise response before crossing his arms and letting Sonic finish."You need to track someone? Is it a person?" Wade asked after a while of silence. "Not exactly..." Knuckles said narrowing his eyes in a disapproval way.

"Well what information do you need?" He said next raising an eyebrow

"Whatever information you can acquire. Usually Tails would do all of that but he is injured and is unable to help us."

Knuckles was quick to respond before Sonic as usual. Sonic nodded in agreement with what Knuckles said.

"Yeah, we need anything you can find on this guy. Name, background, abilities, the works," he added.

He paused for a moment, thinking.

"Oh, and one more thing. We need you to keep this between us, got it? This information is not meant to be leaked to anyone else."

"You can count on me if I find anything on him I'll let you know." The man said as Knuckles for once gave a soft smile. Sonic smiled in return, appreciating Wade's trustworthiness.

"Thanks man, we really appreciate it," he said, before turning to Knuckles.

"Well, that's one issue taken care of. What now?"

"How about we go on patrol? It is the least we could do.." Knuckles asked raising an eyebrow at Sonic. Sonic nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, patrolling sounds like a good idea. We might as well do something useful while we wait for Wade to dig up some info."

He stretched his arms, cracking his knuckles.

"Lead the way, Knucks."

"With pleasure.." Knuckles said and began leaving the garage as Wade waved goodbye. "Come along Sonic I'm sure we can find something to do while we are out patrolling the city." He added calling out to his brother. Sonic followed close behind, his mind still preoccupied with the recent events.

"Yeah, hopefully it'll be a quiet night. Don't really feel like dealing with any more chaos today."

As they began patrolling the city, Sonic kept his senses heightened and eyes peeled for any signs of trouble. He couldn't afford to let his guard down. not even for a split second..
