We roam around the town looking for something to do. A pub caught our attention, after all, it's been a long day, a drink would help.
'Ahem, you forgot about something.' Qura says in my mind.
'Oh, right. Sorry.'
"Hey guys, I'm going to let out some steam. Ever since I've drank that potion, Qura has been complaining about the heat." I say to Aesar and Freyja.
"Oh, I want to see it happen!" replies Freyja.
"Well then. I will go ahead and book us a table of 3 in the pub. I'll be waiting on you all." Echoes Aesar
The three of us split off. Aesar struts along into the pub, as soon as she steps in, the bustling noises halt,
"What a grand entrance she has made, apparently." I say
"Yeah, Elves are certainly an unusual race to be found in a pub like that." Freyja replied
"But she seemed totally fine going in there by herself. Wouldn't she have hesitated to enter if that was the case?"
"I bet she was very nervous. She just doesn't like to show it. She aspires to be as stoic as the older warriors she looks up to. Don't you worry about her though, she can handle herself."
We head out to a secluded area far from any trees and vegetation. A little dirt patch close to the city wall, but far from any guard towers; hopefully this doesn't catch any attention.
A huge tower of flames visible from outside the walls on the other side of the city caught the guards' attention.
"That was definitely a sight to behold. But, it didn't really seem that the potion improved anything." Said Freyja
"Yeah I kinda thought that too. But, hey, at least Qura is happy now." I replied.
I can feel her give me a thumbs up in my brain. That's when the roar of alert horns sound through the city.
'The mages are closing in on our location, we should go.'
"Yeah... it seems we're in a bit of trouble." I continue
"Ok then, let's scram." Freyja says.
We run through the outskirt woods back to where we were.
Rushing to the pub, we burst inside and met up with Aesar.
"Woah, what's the rush for?!" She exclaimed
"We overdid the steam thing." I replied
"WE?! That was all YOU!" Freyja jumped.
"Ok, guys, relax. It'll probably take them time to find you guys if they do. Sit down and have a drink" Aesar held her hands up.
'She's right, their magic was weak compared to my presence.' You can feel her smirk.
Aesar has already ordered herself a glass of aged whiskey. Freyja and I get drinks; A normal beer for me, and Freyja ordered a glass of milk.
"A glass of milk?" I asked
"Yeah," Freyja takes a sip, "And?"
"I've been meaning to ask. Ever since we met, I've been discovering how weird you are by the hour. So, what's your story?"
She puts down the glass,
"Nothing much, I've always been the odd one out ever since I was a child. I credit my innovation and tinkering to that trait of mine."
The murmuring of random customers and clanking of beer mugs paint the ambient as Freyja speaks.
"After all, I am a morphing shark princess with a kitted out lab in an underground cave and a vampire boyfriend that owns a shark horse. Drinking milk is what brought this question up?"
