Jeongin POV
"Right... okay, makes sense." I spoke into the phone, taking in my brother's instructions.
"Jeongin. This is serious- do not fuck this up for funsies. We have to at least keep up some semblance of normalcy." Felix scolded.
I rolled my eyes. I mean, damn- give me some credit for fuck's sake.
"Lix. I will not fuck this up. I will take Dr. Kim home, dropping him by the west gate, and nobody will see me. Then I will come back and go to my room, where I will make no noise and pretend I don't exist. Is that right?" I retorted. The thunder rumbled loudly on his end of the phone and seemed to echo outside my windows- the storm showing no signs of slowing down.
"Did you just Harry Potter me, Innie?" he chuckled, and I felt a smile crawl over my lips.
"Might have." I shrugged and my eyes fell to Seungmin- sleeves rolled up, his tie loosened- the image of relaxed and at ease. He was sitting at my desk, pretending like he wasn't listening to my conversation. He was in profile, his beautifully carved face glowing from the subtle lamp light. His hands were toying with a piece of paper, and I found myself lost in watching him- the way his brows knitted together slightly in concentration as he worked. And his mind... it was so soft, calm- focused on the task of folding the paper precisely.
I swallowed, bringing myself back to the conversation I should be having. "So what time should I be taking him back- for clarification?" I asked, my eyes darting to storm raging outside. I hated driving in the rain... It made me uneasy for some reason.
My gaze shifted again and my tongue was slowly wetting my lower lip as I found my eyes following the movements of the handsome doctor's hands again. I was in no hurry to finish the task set by my brothers, rather intent in fact to keep watching the beautiful man taking up space in my room.
"Dr. Kim doesn't have a set curfew, like some of the other employees- so as long as it's tonight sometime, Jisung said he can make an excuse for picking up meds or something." Felix paused, listening to Minho on the other end of the phone. He mumbled something I couldn't hear and turned his attention back to me. "Use your best judgement- and take one of the staff cars- not your Jeep- it's recognizable."
"Got it." I responded, nodding even if he couldn't see it. "We'll talk later." I promised and hit 'End' before he could reply. I stood, taking a few steps toward my companion.
"Are you getting rid of me finally?" He asked sarcastically, his eyes still trained on the bunch of folded paper in his hands. He leaned in closer, adjusting the black wire rimmed glasses he wore- his eyes making sure it was up to his standards.
I placed my hands on the arms of the chair, looming over him, my face nearly resting on his shoulder as I inspected what he was working on so intently. "What makes you think I want to get rid of you, Doc?" I flirted, my face tilting just slightly, taking in the way his hair smelled like something...fresh, warm- like laundry hanging on a summer day. My memories flashed to a maid from my childhood- who used to hang my sheets to dry outside- she got reprimanded every time, but she still did it, knowing I loved the scent. I smiled. "Why are you in such a hurry to disappear? I teased.
"Hmm." He considered, shrugging. I watched as his fingers pulled the tiny paper, manipulating the delicate material until it took form. "I think you might be growing on me, prince." He teased, presenting the origami creature on his fingers, balanced perfectly. He smiled, and I wished I was standing somewhere I could see it better- it was...beautiful. "Here." He offered, making a small gesture of presentation, intending me to take the folded animal.
