No one pov:
Timeskip 8 years:
It has been years since Nadia took (y/n) in the orphanage. Her fears seemed to have been proven correct. The staff of the orphanage already thought he was some sort of freak, even as a baby. However, they all honor what the orphanage is supposed to be, so (y/n) was allowed to stay. Nadia became the main caretaker for (y/n). As he grew older, he couldn't hide his features from the other children. They mostly called him names and made fun of him. When they tried to pick on him, he defended himself and accidentally hit one of the bullies with his strength, and they went through a literal door. They would have gone to a hospital, but (y/n) did one touch on them, and they were healed. He also made a fire to help cook in the kitchen but had a little accident once from making too much, and (y/n) managed to put it out right away with the will of his mind. His powers were already starting to come in. Even though they were accidents and were fixed, as well as Nadia's protests, the staff decided to keep him in a room near the back of the orphanage, locked with a metal door most of the time. It ensured he wouldn't have any more accidents or hurt anyone, but they also wanted to see him less often. Nadia did her very best to keep him comfortable, like giving him all the learning books he wanted and having decorations in his room. Adults who come to adopt a child sometimes see him, but they always give some bad reaction. It made (y/n) more and more hopeless for a family. To make things worse, the orphanage is going to close down soon, and if he isn't adopted, he may be on the street or... worse. Then, one particular man decided to come to hopefully adopt a son.
Hank/Helltaker pov:
I just arrived at the Mystic Orphanage. I kept getting at with women, but I always felt something missing in the relationship, and I don't know what. Perhaps I might find out one day. For that reason, I never got married or had children. I think adopting a child might be good because they have a nice home and someone to care for them when there is no one else. I rang the bell. Then, an older woman came out with a Slavic accent.
???: Are you Hank (l/n)?
Hank: That's me.
Nadia: I'm Nadia, the current main caretaker of the orphanage.
Hank: May I come in? I am hoping to adopt a son, maybe.
Nadia: Of course.
She let me in, and I followed her to the cafeteria. I saw only about nine kids, five of whom were boys.
Hank: I thought there would be more.
Nadia: The orphanage is going to close down soon, and we try to get as many kids adopted as possible. We also haven't been getting more kids to care for, and our funds are getting cut.
Hank: I'm sorry about that. Will you be okay?
Nadia: I'm going to retire anyway soon, so I will be fine, but I'm worried about the children. I have worked here since I was a young girl, and I truly care for the children.
