Sion, the nerdiest kid in middle school, was constantly bullied for his looks. He had little confidence and struggled to make even a single friend. Despite his efforts, he always felt like an outsider.
There was, however, one person who always seemed to care. Lee Dohee. She, too, was bullied, but despite everything, she and Sion shared a bond that no one else could understand. They would smile at each other in the school hallways, their friendship a quiet defiance against the world that tried to bring them down.
When they graduated middle school, Sion was faced with a tough decision. He was transferring to a high school in Seoul, a long way from home, and that meant leaving behind Dohee. The sadness on her face as they said goodbye was unmistakable. It was the last time Sion saw her.
After the move, Sion was overwhelmed. The first few days at his new school were tough; he had to adjust to not only a new environment but also a new, higher level of academic pressure. But in those days of adjustment, something unexpected happened-Sion had the biggest glow-up imaginable.
Gone was the awkward, bookish kid who spent hours making study notes. In his place stood a confident, athletic teenager who had spent weeks working out at the gym. Sion discovered a hidden talent for basketball, which gave him even more of a boost. He'd transformed physically and mentally, but most importantly-he started to feel confident. So confident, in fact, that he posted his first photo on Wishiegram, a social media platform that everyone at his new school seemed to use.
The moment he posted it, the entire school took notice. His transformation was jaw-dropping. The comments flooded in.
"Is this really Sion?"
"Am I tweaking... this is not the Sion I know."
"Sion's glow-up >>>"
"He looks like... my next boyfriend."Dohee saw the post, but she didn't say anything. Sion had posted those photos hoping to reconnect with her, but he never expected it to feel so one-sided. Despite the virality of his post, it seemed like she hadn't even noticed.
At his new school, the reaction was overwhelming. Girls were suddenly fawning over him, and even students from his old school had caught wind of the glow-up. Word spread quickly, and soon it was impossible to go anywhere without someone mentioning his transformation.
"Wait, that's the new kid?"
"He's the new guy at our school? He's so handsome!"Sion gained more confidence from all the compliments he received. He posted on his Twitter account, for the first time.
