Lavender's POV
"So did you just feel like having a blonde day today?" Kara asks as she looks at my wife.
"Mhmm." Maya says with a smile as I look at her.
My wife is so fucking sexy.
"Hope that wig glue holds later tonight." I mumble.
"Oh it will." Maya says with a smile.
"Whew." I softly cheer then I continue cooking for my friends and teammates.
Now that the season is over my team and I are having a barbecue dinner party at my home.
Sidenote, Maya and I had a long conversation about her suppressing her feelings and not letting me in on them and we're doing good now.
"HA." Ona shouts as she grabs my cowboy hat off my head.
"Uh oh." Isabella says as Ona puts my hat on her head.
"Well now you gotta deal with Maya." I say with a smile.
"Why?" Keira asks.
"Because when a lady takes a cowboy hat off someone it symbolizes that they wanna fuck." My sister Daisy says.
"Wear the hat ride the cowgirl." I say with a smirk.
"Shit." Ona says then she sheepishly takes my hat off her head and puts it back on my head. "Lemme just put this back."
"WEEEEE." Hazel Harris squeals causing me to look towards the sound of her squeal and see she fell of the mechanical bull that we have here in my back yard and landed on the inflatable part surrounding the bull. "Again Mama."
"So cute." I mumble then I hear one of my favorite songs start playing through the speakers I have out here in my back yard.
"Uh Lavender as your older sister whom you love a lot I request that you sing this song." Daisy says.
"You're so lucky I like you." I say then I sing along to Springsteen by Eric Church.
To this day when I hear that song,
I see you standing there on that lawn
Discount shades, store-bought tan,
Flip-flops and cut-off jeansSomewhere between that setting sun,
"I'm On Fire" and "Born To Run"
You looked at me and I was done,
And we, we're just getting startedI was singing to you, you were singing to me
I was so alive, never been more free
Fired up my daddy's lighter and we sang ohStayed there 'til they forced us out
And took the long way to your house
I can still hear the sound
Of you saying, "Don't go."
