The night sky had taken over the once bright blue sky of white clouds. The moon shone brightly, providing a certain female with light as she carefully climbed out of her window onto the small balcony. It was currently midnight, three more days until her grand banquet. Y/n pretended to sleep after Pixal had left her room. She had been analyzing the guards movements and daily routes at night for the past week. Finally getting the perfect opportunity, she took her chances and decided that tonight, she would sneak out just for a bit before having to return before sunrise.
Holding up her shoes, Y/n picked up the hem of her silk night dress as she landed softly on the balcony. Her next step? A leap of faith. The ground was only a tad bit far down below, making Y/n heat her own heart beat. But she wasn't a wimp- she was always one to take on a risk, a new challenge.
Taking in a deep breath, she mustered up her courage and pushed her feet off the balcony. It felt like slow motion. Wind blew her hair as she bent her knees, tightly gripping her shoes. She almost shut her eyes, but forced to keep them open.
She landed on her two feet, slightly stumbling a bit to regain her balance. Realizing that she did it, she cheered silently, but quickly stopped when she heard a guard heading her way. Y/n's lips tugged up into a smile as she jogged lightly, rounding around the building as she headed for the forest.
The castle that Y/n resides in was atop a hill overlooking Ninjago. Right below it was the main castle, a road leading to her home. Every few nights, Y/n would sneak out of her bedroom and head into the forest. There, it gave a beautiful view of the whole kingdom of Ninjago. Lights decorated the once dark grounds, the castle looking even more magnificent from above.
Y/n felt the wind brush her hair as she sat a top a rock, gazing longingly. She wished that she could leave to go to the palace. She had so many questions- why was she locked up? What was her purpose? Why was she separated from her family?
Her gaze lifted slightly, staring down at the border between the purified lands and the land of darkness- where she was told her father resided. A faint red and dark mist swirled around the lands of darkness. She wondered what it was like there. Was it scary inside?
Ding.. ding.. ding...
A loud bell hummed in the air, coming straight from the palace. It was Y/n's wie to stand up as the sun was about to rise.
'I should head back now.' She thought, tossing away a random leaf that she was fidgeting with.
Woosh..
Y/n glanced back at her spot. She caught sight of something moving- was it just her imagination? Shaking her head, she began to head back silently.
Birds chirped slightly, indicating that they had just woken up. Y/n emerged out of the forest as one whole, glad that nothing bad happened. Yet, a lingering worry stuck in her heart.
She hurried back to where she came from, but before she could even climb back up the wall to her balcony, she heard two voices coming her way.
'Shit!!' Y/n cursed, taking a few steps back as she peeked her head over the wall.
Two guards stood at the center, seemingly discussing about the upcoming banquet. Y/n only glared at them as she retracted her figure back, crouching as she hid next to some boxes.
'Dammit. Pixal is gunna find out.' Thinking about what kind of trouble she could get in, Y/n suddenly heard a purring sound.
Widening her eyes, she quickly shut off her rambling thoughts, realizing a black cat standing in front of her with its head tilted.
