(Raw and unbeta readed. I just wanted to post before sleeping.)
We walked (Sebastian slithered) through the empty eerie rooms with silence between us, I was still slightly upset at Sebastian for the shit he pulled against the multi-eyed monster. I showed my anger through short and terse responses whenever Sebastian tried to start up a conversation and I would keep my distance from him when he tried to slither a little closer to me.
The current room we walked through was bright and well lit with the exception of a few broken bulbs and a cracked window that was slowly pouring water into the room. Even though I was being a jerk to Sebastian I decided to help him loot the rooms we walked through, I couldn't bring myself to be a complete jerk to Sebastian, just enough for him to know what he did was wrong.
I stuffed a new batch of documents into my bags from a large table at the front of the next door. I made room for the new documents in my bag by pushing some of the old USB’s and vials to the side so I could stuff the papers in the bag without ruining the data.
I looked over from the side of the room to look over at what Sebastian was doing. Across the room Sebastian was looking over a document he found at the top of the shelf, he skimmed his claw delicately across the paper, making sure not to rip it as he moved to look at the back of the papers. Sebastian looked innocent as he hastily read the papers so he could get to reading the next line of words, every now and then Sebastian would have to flick his hair out of the way of his eyes as his hair would get in the way.
It was cute. But I’m still mad at him.
With a bag full of new loose assets I search around the room to see if there's more research lying around, but every drawer and table have been looted for their valuables and left empty with the few blank papers and empty soda cans.
“Hey Seb, the room has been looted, let's get to the next.” I called out to Sebastian, who still had his face stuffed into the document he was reading. He quickly brought his head up from the papers to turn his attention to me.
“Huh? Oh yeah, okay.” Sebastian closed the document he was holding and stuffed it into one of the many bags that were lined across and strapped to his tail. I waited for him to get next to me so he could open the unopened door that goes to the next room to loot. I leaned onto one leg and then the next as I watched Sebastian get close to the next door and opened it. Because Sebastian was so tall he had to basically crawl whenever going through the tight doorways.
It was funny to watch Sebastian lean down to fit himself through the short doorways and sometimes he would hit his head on a broken pipe that was leaning a little too far down over the doors. Those moments would earn a chuckle from me.
I waited for Sebastian’s tail to move out of the way before I tried to walk through the doorways as his large tail blocked me from even trying to walk into the next. It always looked painful for the whale fin to curve just so it would fit.
I walked through the doorway and was met with an empty long hallway. There were no windows to look through and there were no tables or shelves to loot, the room as a whole was a dud. The ceiling was tall though and the lights were a burning bright white color that hurt to look at for too long.
Sebastian seemed to be more disappointed than I was as he let out an annoyed puff of air from his lungs and his ear fins pressed downwards, at the corner of my eyes I could notice and hear his tail fin softly slapped the concrete floor.
It was endearing to notice the little movements that Sebastian does that expose his emotions, to his ear fins and to his tail fin. It made it hard to be mad at him, but I stood my ground on being upset towards him.
