Magnus walked along the gangway, carrying a load of papers, he was ready for this meeting.
He was absolutely not ready for this he was still reeling about what happened this morning.
Everyone else was following. Everyone knew what they had to do.
"Sorry I'm late, had a bit of a headache of a morning, I can only apologise," he said, sitting down in his chair.
Russ had followed his boss in, Magnus had filled them in on what had transpired last night in the car ride over.
Bianca had stabbed the old man, Charli had patched him up, Anni was clinically dead this morning and now everything was just normal again. Well, as normal as it gets around here.
Russ had been a Comms operator in the military with Magnus and Alwyn, so he started as the first radio op in the company along with Mike who made the transfer to offshore medic instead of combat medic.
To say he was used to the odd things that happened to his bosses and their family was an understatement but today took top space for oddest thing that's come out of Magnus' mouth in the 30 odd years he'd known him.
Matthew however was not a vet. He hadn't been there since before Anni came along, he was an office manager who applied for the role he secured.
He had always gotten a bad feeling from Matthew, he never liked him, never let his guard down around him.
So when the boss had told him about these plans he knew it had to be true. After checking the blueprints and messages he knew Matthew was bad news.
"Sorry I'm late, do you know how hard it is to find a scarf in LA in June?" Anni said as she dumped her bag down and took a seat.
Bianca was eyeing her across the room, making her angry, but she just averted her eyes towards the wall.
Mark sat down next to his sister, glaring at Bianca as he did. He was still a little emotional after this morning finding out his dad was stabbed last night had also sent him over the edge.
Alwyn was the last to come in, he was still feeling rather fragile and embarrassed about earlier. He took a seat in the corner, not really prepared to talk in this meeting, he just wanted to go hide in his room from everyone. Now he really knew how Anni felt.
But he wanted to see Matt crumble once all this was laid out in front of him. Al knew he'd try to weasel his way out, he always did.
"Is that everyone?" Matthew asked Magnus.
The old man nodded, "Neal isn't around today, Barry is handling some deliveries that couldn't wait and Tom's on holiday so this is it."
"Right, good, now let's get started. Bianca sweetie, how are you settling in?" He asked, taking control of the questions.
Anni sensed his nerves getting up now he was here, he'd always been a big talker until he was face to face with her dad's, then all his cocky, egotistical attitude left him.
Bianca smiled at her dad, "oh I love it daddy, it's so much fun. Anni and I are super close!" She was beaming at her dad, so excited to tell him all these lies about her and Anni.
Magnus wasn't amused, "right, let's get down to actual business," he growled at them.
Anni could tell he was preparing himself for a fight, she could see it in his eyes.
"Mark, how the patch work doing?"
"It going not bad, if we could keep the distraction to a minimum then it should only take us about 2 weeks, but we've lost a few days so far, so I'd say 3 at most now, sorry."
