The boat rocked ever so faintly as the waves gently moved the vessel, the faint sound of the waves lapping against the hull breaking the almost eerie silence. The boat groaned softly as the ocean current hit it, the gentle waves creating a soft tune, one that was nearly soothing in a way.

Moonlight cast it's silvery light on the deck beneath Hongjoong's feet, the faint glow reflecting off the captain's pale face.

Hongjoong leaned against the ships railing, his arms crossed over his chest as he continued to watch the horizon. The sky was clear tonight, the endless inky expanse adorned with a thousand white pinpoints, their combined light casting a faint glow on the sea below.

A faint breeze blew past the ship, its cold air making Hongjoong shiver. Something felt off tonight, the calm sea and quiet night sending uneasy shivers down his spine. No matter how hard he tried to shake the feeling, it remained, gripping the very core of his being.

Despite the uneasy feeling in his gut, Hongjoong continued to scour the vast expanse of the sea, his gaze never once wavering as he kept a watchful eye on the water.

The boat rocked gently again as a small wave splashed against the hull, the gentle sound of dripping water echoing through the night air.

With another sigh, the captain ran a hand through his messy black hair, his tired eyes continuing to scan the sea. He wasn't used to the sea being this quiet.

Usually, there were at least a few fish or sea mammals that he could see or hear in the distance. Tonight, there was nothing, the only sound being that of the waves as they gently splashed against the hull of the boat.

Hongjoong's grip on the railing tightened as a small shiver ran through his body, the quiet and uneasiness leaving him slightly wary.

"Captain" a soft voice said from behind him, causing Hongjoong's grip on the railing to tighten even more.

He whirled round, his eyes fixing on the man that stood behind him. It was Yunho, his first mate.

The man was leaning against the doorframe, watching Hongjoong with a sleepy expression on his face. "You alright, Captain? You've been up for a while," Yunho said, his voice still slightly raspy from sleep.

Hongjoong sighed once more, his grip on the railing finally loosening as he ran a hand through his messy hair once more. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just can't sleep, is all," Hongjoong replied, his eyes returning to the sea in front of him.

Yunho hummed in acknowledgment, his eyes flickering to the ocean before returning to his captain. "The sea's too quiet tonight," Yunho said, a hint of uneasiness in his voice.

"I don't like it." Hongjoong nodded in agreement, his eyes narrowing slightly as he continued to scan the water.

"Me neither," Hongjoong said, his voice low and gruff. "It's too calm, something's not right." Yunho hummed again, pushing himself off the doorframe and walking over to his captain.

He leaned against the railing next to Hongjoong, his eyes fixated on the water as well.

The two men stood in silence, their eyes scouring the sea for any sign of danger. It was quiet, too quiet.

The sound of the gentle waves and the creaking of the boat were the only sounds to be heard on the otherwise silent night.

Hongjoong's grip on the railing tightened once more as a shiver ran through his body, his uneasiness growing with each passing second. "Do you think it's some sort of trap?" Yunho asked, his voice quiet.

Hongjoong shook his head in response, his eyes still fixated on the sea in front of him. "No, I don't think so. It feels different, something's off," Hongjoong replied, his voice still low and gruff.
