The morning light painted the sky in hues of pink as the crew set out to continue their search for Hongjoong and Yunho. They followed the shoreline of the island, their eyes scanning the landscape for any sign of their missing crew mates.
After several hours of searching, Jongho spotted something in the distance. "There!" he exclaimed, pointing. The rest of the crew squinted in the direction he was pointing, seeing a dark opening in the side of a rocky cliff.
"That looks like a cave," San said, his eyes narrowing. "Do you think they could be in there?"
The crew exchanged looks, a sense of unease passing between them. Stepping into a dark, unknown cave could be dangerous, but they had no other leads on where their missing crew mates could be.
The crew approached the cave, their steps growing cautious as they neared the dark opening. The sunlight barely illuminated a few feet into the cave, beyond which lay a sea of shadows.
One by one, they entered the cave, their footsteps echoing slightly in the enclosed space. The air was cool and damp, the smell of ocean water and earth strong in their nostrils. They had to duck their heads slightly as they walked through the narrow passage, the ceiling just high enough not to scrape their heads.
As they walked deeper into the cave, the sunlight fading behind them, the shadows grew thicker, swallowing up everything beyond a few feet. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and the sound of dripping water was heard echoing in the darkness.
Suddenly, San stopped walking, his eyes widening as he saw something on the floor. The rest of the crew followed his gaze, their breaths catching as they saw what he had seen. There, lying unconscious on the stone floor, were Hongjoong and Yunho.
"Hyungs!" Wooyoung exclaimed, his voice echoing in the cave. The crew rushed forward, dropping to their knees beside their unconscious crew mates. They were breathing, but their faces were pale and their bodies unnaturally still.
San placed a hand on Yunho's forehead, his expression tense. "They're cold," he said, his voice slightly panicked. "Very cold. We need to get them out of here, now."
The crew quickly pulled Hongjoong and Yunho upright, slinging their arms around their shoulders. They stumbled forward, straining under the weight of their unconscious crewmates.
The trek back through the cave was slow going, the crew struggling to keep their footing on the uneven ground. The shadows seemed to press in around them, the darkness weighing heavily on their spirits.
As they exited the cave, they stumbled out into the sunlight, the bright light blinding them for a moment after the darkness of the cave. The fresh air was a welcome change, but they knew they needed to get Hongjoong and Yunho back to the ship as quickly as possible.
They stumbled back towards the ship, the burden weighing heavily on their shoulders. The rest of the crew ran to meet them, their eyes widening in shock as they saw the state of Hongjoong and Yunho.
As the crew rushed Hongjoong and Yunho back to the ship, Yeosang stood on the deck, watching anxiously as they carried their unconscious crewmates aboard. He could see the fear and worry etched on the faces of his crew mates, their movements frantic and urgent.
He stood to the side, feeling a sense of helplessness as he watched them lay Hongjoong and Yunho on the deck. They quickly set to work, checking their vital signs and trying to get them to wake up.
Yeosang's eyes flicked over to the injured siren, who was lying nearby. The siren had woken up, but seemed dazed and disoriented, his eyes flickering open and shut.
Yeosang couldn't shake the worry from his mind. Not only were two of his crew mates unconscious, but there was also the injured siren lying on the deck. He wanted to do something, anything to help, but he felt helpless watching from the sidelines.
He glanced over at the other crew members, seeing them work together to try and wake Hongjoong and Yunho. San was checking their pulse, his face tense with worry. Jongho was helping to prop them up, while Wooyoung fetched a few blankets to keep them warm.
After a few tense moments, Hongjoong's eyelids began to flutter open. He groaned, his body twitching slightly as he tried to sit up.
San and Jongho were immediately by his side, gently supporting him as he awoke. His eyes were glazed and unfocused, his head lolling from side to side as he struggled to come to his senses."Hyung!" San exclaimed, his voice full of relief. "You're awake!"
Hongjoong's head jerked up at the sound of his voice, his hazy eyes slowly focusing on his crew mate's face.
"What..." Hongjoong mumbled, his voice raspy and cracked. "What happened?"
Sans exchanged a quick glance with Jongho before turning back to Hongjoong. "You and Yunho were found unconscious in a cave. We brought you back to the ship."
San quickly filled him in on what had happened. Hongjoong listened, his face growing more and more shocked and concerned as he heard of Yunho's condition and the presence the injured siren's on the ship.
"Wait... wait, wait," he interrupted, his voice still weak. "The siren is here? On the ship?"
San nodded, his expression grim. "Yeah, he's right over there," he replied, gesturing towards where the siren was lying on the deck, a few feet away.
Hongjoong's eyes followed the direction that San was gesturing in, and his jaw dropped as he saw the sight in front of him. There, lying on the deck, was an injured siren. But it wasn't the same one who had captured them. This one had a calmer aura... gentler looks.
Suddenly, the siren stirred, his head turning slightly to meet Hongjoong's gaze.
The two of them stared at each other, the air between them charged with unspoken words and tension. The silence felt heavy, almost ominous. Hongjoong's heart thumped loudly in his chest as he looked at the siren's calm, unblinking eyes.
"That's not the same one," he said hoarsely, his words barely above a whisper. The others looked at him in confusion, not quite understanding what he meant.
"What do you mean, not the same one?" San asked, looking back and forth between Hongjoong and the injured siren.
The crew exchanged puzzled glances, clearly unsure of what Hongjoong was talking about. "What are you talking about, hyung?" Jongho asked, his brow furrowing slightly.
"What siren?" Wooyoung added, looking just as confused as the others.
Hongjoong winced, realizing that he had never actually told them about the siren kidnapping them. It had all happened so fast, and he had been so focused on escaping that he hadn't had a chance to fill the others in on what had actually happened.
"I... ah, crap," he muttered, his mind scrambling for a quick explanation. His head was still feeling fuzzy from the effects of his capture, and his thoughts were sluggish as he tried to come up with something to say.
Hongjoong took a shaky breath, trying to gather his thoughts. "Listen, there's something I need to tell you," he began, his voice raspy and quiet.
The crew leaned in closer, their expressions turning serious and attentive. Hongjoong could see the confusion and worry in their eyes, and he knew that he needed to explain what had happened.
So he told them everything. He described how they had been kidnapped by a siren and taken to a cave. He told them how Yunho had seemed entranced and in love with their captor.
The crew listened in silence, their eyes growing wide as they took in the gravity of the situation. Hongjoong's voice trembled as he described how Yunho had seemingly lost himself completely, his mind and heart taken by the siren's spell.
