I ran up down the steps in a fast pace, not minding the other 2 survivors with me. I ran down and grabbed a hand trowel from a nearby flower bed in a plastic container.
Takashi:"Hey! Wait!" The other two lagged back behind me.
It was obvious by our speed, I was superior...in speed atleast. So, I ran down first and finally saw the one I was looking for. My best friend, Hirano, surrounded by those...things.
Hirano:"Y-Y/n! You're here!" He shouted.
Because of that, the girl next to him, who was on the ground and covered in blood, looked at me, a bit surprised to see a fellow survivor. Even then, without hesitation, I ran near Hirano and stabbed the hand trowel all the way through the nearest zombie towards Hirano.
I grabbed the hand trowel again and began to kill any nearby zombies. All the while, the 2 who were behind me and a purple haired girl holding a wooden katana appeared.

Takashi:"Finally made it!" He said, huffing out from a bit of exhaustion.
???:"This is no time to rest just yet. I will take the right!" She shouted.
Takashi:"Mhm! Rei!" He said to her
And unison, we took our positions to hold back the dead, Takashi and Rei took the left, while me and the other girl took the right hall.
I ran towards her and stabbed my weapon through a zombie's skull, killing it instantly, I immediately recovered and moved on to the next one, making the girl I was teaming up with widen in surprise.
???:"Such skill. Quite impressive." She said.
In also a great display of skill, she manuevered through atleast 3 undead in a straight. Preventing them from touching and at the same time, throwing killing blows with her wooden katana in quick succession.
She looks at me, seemingly wanting a compliment, only for me to remain quiet and continue on with combat against the zombies. I hear her sigh and continue on.
After about 3 minutes. We managed to atleast clear out the lobby on where we were. Me and Takashi go towards the open window double door that led to open pathway to the other building as Takashi closes it and I lock it with a broken chair leg from a broken chair that came from a nearby classroom.
Takashi:"This should be good enough. Don't go running off like that man. You could get killed!" He warned me.
I just nodded and went back towards the others and Hirano. There, I see the pink haired girl, being reassured and comforted by the school nurse, Miss Marikawa and Rei, the girl that was with Takashi.
Saeko:"I assume we are all acquinted with school nurse, Miss Marikawa? I am Saeko Busujima of Class 3-A." She introduced herself to us.
Takashi:"I'm Takashi Komuro. Class 2-B."
Rei:Oh! You must be the same senpai who won national champion last year! I'm Rei Miyamoto. I'm in the Sojutsu Club."
Hirano:"E-Eh...I'm...Kohta Hirano...from B." They finished.
I only remained quiet and serious, surveying the area just in case. A suddent attack can always happen, but as I do that, the others look at me, as Hirano signalled me a go to talk.
Y/n:"...Y/n L/n...From A." I cut to the chase.
Saeko:"Hmm. A pleasure to meet you all." She said with a smile.
I just continued on observing the area quietly. Looking out the window from time to time, seeing more carnage as many corpses and students being eaten. I couldn't do anything about it regrettably. That was...until she spoke up.
???:"Come on! Why are you all so soft all of a sudden!? Senpai!? Seriously? You're both the same age! You must not know how to count because you got held back a year!" She insulted Rei.
Takashi:"Hey! Takagi...that-"
Takagi:"Don't treat me like I'm stupid! I'm a genius! I can do anything if I put my mind to it! I'm...I'm..." She shook in her place.
It was obvious she was breaking down from the concept of our regular life being gone permanently. I just stayed quiet, I wasn't great with anything socially included, especiallt feelings.
So, the best I could do was atleast see if other zombies heard her scream. Seeing her breakdown, Saeko comforts her as she cries on her clothes.
I continue on observing the surroundings. Until, I see at a distance that a small group of undead did hear her scream. Seeing this, I signal them to get away. As a means of distraction, I grab trophy from a nearby case where Takagi was and threw it towards a window near the group of undead aa a distraction. After that, I followed behind Hirano and the group.
Y/n:"...Miss Marikawa...do you have access to the staff room?" I asked out nurse.
Marika:"H-huh? Y-yes I do...should we head there?" She asked me.
I nodded to her with a stoic expression.
Y/n:"Let's go. There should be a TV for news and blinds for coverage." I said.
With that, they agreed to my temporary plan for shelter as Takashi and Saeko lead the way, while me and Hirano were behind the group as protection for the back, while the others were in the middle.
Hirano:"...You seem to be taking this apocalypse quite well..."
Y/n:"Hmmm...Too well." I pointes out.
Hirano:"...Come on now. I know you..."
Y/n:"...I know, Hirano. I'm different. Let's just get to safety."
I still remember the words that were left to me, remembering the events of that night that turned me into this. The sentence...Protect others...is all I heard remember from her.
I shook my head as I go back to reality. We enter the Staff Room thanks to Miss Marikawa's key as everyone settles down. I push a locker behind the door for safety just in case.
