It's been two weeks since the dance. Since I felt his lips against mine. Red has been the last person on my mind, and I've made that decently clear to her.
She took the hint, and I took the spitballs when she did. I'm deserving of those, yet seem to not be bothered by them as I watch Tweek and Craig. They act the same. Nothings changed between them, and Craig seems to keep his distance from me since the dance ended.
I don't know how I can get his attention. How can I take him from Tweek? How dangerous could he possibly be? Enough to keep me away from him entirely. He said he was happy. I want to make him happy.
Regardless... he'll run out of weed eventually, and when he does he'll have to come back. Right? He couldn't get someone else to get it for him.
"Stan!!! One of your friends is at the door!" My dad yells up the stairs for me. Thats him. He's out. He's here for more.. for me. I rush down the stairs and open the door, my smile falls when I see it's Clyde.
"Hey... we need to talk" he steps in and closes the door.
I don't partially like Clyde. Not because he stole Wendy, or that he's a man whore, he's also a drug whore, he buys from me when he has parties, because his plug doesn't sell him the large quantities I do. But he still manages to get mushrooms and acid for his parties too. Those parties go all night long, and somehow he's not violently sick. Maybe I just got my partying out young.
"Yeah sure, my room" I gesture, I seem a lot more relaxed than he does, and usually he's not this tense, he seems nervous. Probably withdrawl.
We get up to my room and as soon as we get up there I pack gloomer. Offering it to him, which he of course takes.
"Thanks, but this isn't why I'm here today." He hands it to me and I take a hit of my own
"Great, now I'm not getting paid to hang out with you" I exhale "go ahead"
Clyde shuts the blinds turning back to look at me "Obviously I wouldn't be here if I didn't have to be" he sits at my desk chair "I know about you and Craig at the dance" he moves closer to me "And honestly, if anyone's his hope of getting out of there alive, it's you"
"What does that even mean? Everyone keeps telling me he's dangerous, but nobody is telling me why."
"Alright look. You didn't hear it from me, but Tweek and his family are... evil, well... his parents hide it better, but they're so loyal to him that they'd follow his footsteps through anything. They all do meth together, and when Tweek found out he went nuts, but went even crazier trying to stop" he takes a deep breath "I've seen that kid do some violent things... he killed a squirrel."
"So what makes you think he's gonna react that way to Craig?"
"Well they're connected, in his eyes. They've been together for almost six years, they've given their hearts and souls to one another. The first time Craig tried to leave, I helped him." He spins in a circle "Tweek found him at every turn to scream at him, to tell him he had betrayed his trust and love, came into my house at night to sleep beside him, claiming he didn't know what was and wasn't real, ended up breaking down and Craig apologized and took him back. The second time Craig had cuts on his back"
"How do you know about that? Have you helped him every time?"
"No just the once, my dad can't handle that sort of stuff in the house. He's not assertive or knows how to deal with that sort of thing, Craig and I grew up together, there's not much we don't know, and through everything we're the only ones each other can trust. I don't need to be up his ass to be his best friend" maybe that's why they get along so well. They give each other lots of space to do their own shit, unless they're together more often than I think.
"So... what should I do? He hasn't seemed to want anything to do with me since the dance"
"Just leave that to me, I know you make him happy, and honestly as much as I don't like you, I really don't like Tweek bringing his quality of life down"
"Is he gonna kill me?"
"I hope he's not capable of that, he seems to be pretty apathetic, though"
Clyde and I chat a while longer, until he rushes out the door, I give him some weed on the house. As much as I don't like him, I appreciate him for coming. I choose not to take Tweek warnings seriously. Especially if I have him over here. No way Tweek is going an hour out of his way to get to Craig. Especially on foot, I know he's not driving yet.
How is this time gonna be different? How am I gonna change anything about that situation? Especially when I'm just being used to get him away from someone else at this point.
