The morning sun streamed through the blinds of Aiah's bedroom, casting a warm glow over her as she lay in bed, her thoughts troubled. It had been a month since a particularly wild and passionate night with Mikha, and Aiah had been feeling increasingly uneasy. Her period was overdue, and her usual routine had been disrupted by a series of symptoms she couldn't quite explain away.

Aiah had been experiencing nausea, mood swings, and unusual fatigue. At first, she dismissed these symptoms as stress or perhaps a mild illness, but as the days passed, the reality began to sink in. It dawned on her that she might have missed taking her birth control pills a few times, and the possibility of an unintended pregnancy became increasingly real.

Her heart pounded as she sat up in bed, the weight of her realization pressing heavily on her shoulders. Determined to confirm her fears, she went to the bathroom and retrieved a pregnancy test from the back of her cabinet. With trembling hands, she followed the instructions and waited for the results.

The minutes felt like hours as she stared at the test, willing the results to be different. But the two pink lines that appeared were unmistakable. Aiah's breath caught in her throat as she stared at the test, her mind racing with a whirlwind of emotions. The reality of being pregnant was both overwhelming and frightening.

**The Lighthearted Teasing**

Later that day, Aiah tried to distract herself by spending time with her friends. She met Maloi and Colet at a local café for brunch. As they sat down at their usual table, the conversation quickly turned to lighthearted teasing and jokes about their lives.

"So, Aiah," Maloi began, "I've noticed you've been a bit off lately. You haven't been yourself."

Colet chimed in with a grin, "Yeah, you've been acting all moody and tired. Are you sure you're not pregnant or something?"

Aiah's heart skipped a beat, but she forced a laugh. "Pregnant? No way. Just a little stressed, that's all."

Maloi and Colet exchanged knowing glances, clearly enjoying their playful banter. "Well, if you're really not pregnant," Colet said with a wink, "maybe you're just tired from all the wild nights you've been having."

Aiah tried to maintain her composure, but the jokes hit too close to home. She smiled weakly, feeling the weight of her secret grow heavier with each passing moment.

**Aiah's Decision**

That evening, Aiah returned to her condo, feeling more determined than ever to talk to Mikha about her pregnancy. But as she arrived, she overheard Mikha's voice coming from the living room. He was on the phone with a group of their friends, recounting stories and anecdotes from their recent beach getaway.

"Honestly," Mikha was saying, "I never really thought about having kids before I met Aiah. It was always something I thought was far off, something I wasn't ready for."

Aiah's heart sank as she overheard this. The part she caught seemed to confirm her worst fear: Mikha wasn't ready for children, and it seemed like he never intended to be. She felt a wave of panic and confusion wash over her. The idea of breaking the news of her pregnancy to him seemed even more daunting now.

Overthinking took hold of her, amplifying her fears. If Mikha wasn't ready for a baby, how would he react to the news? What if he was disappointed or angry? Aiah's mind was a storm of worries and uncertainties.

**Running Away**

Unable to bear the weight of her situation, Aiah decided she needed time away to think things through. Without informing Mikha or her parents, she packed a small bag and booked a flight to Cebu to visit her family. It was a place where she felt safe and could think without the constant reminders of her current reality.

As she left her condo and headed to the airport, her thoughts were a jumble of anxiety and regret. She hoped that being with her family would help her gain some clarity about her relationship with Mikha and the future of her pregnancy.

**Family Time and Reflection**

Upon arriving in Cebu, Aiah was greeted with warm hugs and familiar faces. Her family welcomed her with open arms, but Aiah couldn't bring herself to share the real reason for her visit. She told them she needed a break from work and wanted to spend some quality time with them.

Over the next few days, Aiah tried to immerse herself in family activities, hoping it would help her clear her mind. She went to the local markets, visited old friends, and enjoyed the serene beauty of the island. But despite the distractions, the reality of her situation remained ever-present in her thoughts.

**The Conversation with Her Family**

One evening, while sitting on the porch with her mother, Aiah found herself opening up about her feelings, though she still kept the pregnancy a secret. She spoke about the uncertainty she felt about her future with Mikha and the fear of how he would react to her news.

Her mother listened attentively, her expression a mixture of concern and understanding. "Aiah, sometimes life takes us on unexpected journeys. What matters most is that you make decisions that are right for you. You need to be honest with yourself and with Mikha."

Aiah nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm scared, Mom. I don't know how to handle this. I thought I was ready for everything, but now everything feels so complicated."

Her mother took her hand gently. "Whatever happens, remember that you're not alone. You have to talk to Mikha and face your fears. It's the only way to find clarity."

After a few days of reflection, Aiah knew she couldn't stay away forever. She needed to face Mikha and have the difficult conversation she had been avoiding. She booked a return flight to the city, her mind filled with both apprehension and resolve.

Upon arriving back at her condo, Aiah found Mikha waiting for her, his face a mixture of relief and concern. He had been worried about her sudden disappearance and was eager to talk.

"Where have you been?" Mikha asked, his voice tinged with anxiety. "I tried calling you, but you didn't answer. I was so worried."

Aiah took a deep breath, her heart pounding. "I needed some time to think, Mikha. There's something important we need to talk about."

Mikha looked at her with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "What's going on?"

As Aiah prepared to share her news, she couldn't shake the lingering doubts from her earlier fears. She hoped that, despite everything, they could navigate this challenge together.
