When they returned to Daniel's apartment after their walk around the harbor, a comfortable silence settled between them. Monaco was slowly calming down after the busy race day – Wanda was surprised at how quickly the track had disappeared, and the cars were now driving in places where just half an hour ago, race cars were speeding through at incredible speeds, fighting for the top spots. Daniel unlocked the door and let Wanda go in first. She could still smell the faint scent of the sea in the air, mingling with the fresh air coming from the slightly open windows.

"So, are you tired?" Daniel asked as he set the keys down on a small table by the door.

Wanda looked around the apartment and shrugged. "Not as much as I expected. But maybe it's because this place is so peaceful." She had thought that after a whole day spent on her feet, constantly walking and talking to people, she would be incredibly tired, and would be happy to just sit down and watch a movie. But she wasn't tired, and she would rather go out into the streets and enjoy the evening with Daniel.

"That's the magic of Monaco," Daniel replied with a smile, gesturing toward the couch. "Sit down. Want something to drink?"

Wanda sat down on the dark gray couch and crossed her legs. "Just water, thanks."

Daniel disappeared into the kitchen, and Wanda looked around the room – she hadn't had time to do so the day before. The apartment was simply but stylishly decorated. In the corner, a guitar was leaning against the wall, and there were a few books and souvenirs from various races on the shelves. On the table lay several photographs, most of which showed Daniel with his team, family, or friends.

A moment later, Daniel returned with two glasses of water and sat next to her on the couch. "Here you go."

"Thanks," Wanda replied, taking a sip. "So... how do you feel after today? You had a great race."

Daniel smiled, but his gaze fell to his glass. "It was good. But you know what? It's never good enough. There's always room for improvement." He was right about that. You should never think you're the best, because there's always room to grow. You might be the best at a given moment, but a few weeks later, someone might come along who is better than you, simply because they were training while you were slacking off, thinking you were already the best.

Wanda leaned in closer. "That's true. But sometimes it's important to stop and appreciate what you've already achieved. Today, you showed that you still have it. And not just to yourself, but to everyone else."

Daniel looked at her and smiled again, this time more softly. "Thanks, Wanda. That really means a lot."

They sat next to each other, talking about the race, movies, and everything else, just getting to know each other a bit better, since they hadn't had much time to truly talk yet and learn the deeper things about each other. Wanda felt at ease, which was unusual because she didn't typically feel that openness with people she'd known for such a short time. But Daniel had that gift – he could create an atmosphere where she felt safe.
