The grand ballroom was buzzing with excitement, the kind of scene Emma Carter knew like the back of her hand. She was all about keeping things perfect, especially when it came to the biggest wedding of the year. Everything from the shimmering chandeliers to the elegant flower arrangements was in place. But tonight, Emma's focus was pulled in a different direction by the best man, Jake Reynolds.

Jake's eyes twinkled as he leaned in just a bit closer, his breath warm on her cheek. "I'll be on my best behavior. But I can't promise I won't be tempted to steal a moment or two with you, darling."
Emma's pulse raced at his flirtatious tone, and she shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. "Focus on the wedding for now. We'll deal with everything else later."
