MIA

It was a long weekend. Professor assigned us with a variety of assignments for summer vacation starting soon. I cannot be any more excited for it - the break, not the assignments! Why would anyone love doing assignments that could literally stack up to the height of an average American man? Ugh, I wonder how children manage to even pick those deranged things in the first place.

After college, I head back to my dorm. The keys unlock the door and I find Lara studying on the couch with her empire she set up with her books ruling each and every corner of the room. Gosh! Why does she always have to be so chaotic, messy? Doesn't she know basic ethics of living like a person? Oh, I know that, NO! She doesn't know anything of being an actual human being.

All of her books lie over the place. There isn't even an inch to foothold. I pick up some papers dancing and rustling on the floor and throw up at her. She finally graces me with her warm smile because she didn't even bother to notice me come in.

'How do you plan on protecting this house if someone breaks in and you'd be so engrossed in your books? By giving them therapy sessions?' I raise an eyebrow in question at her, my hands resting on my hips as I lean on one leg.

'Shut up. I knew it was you. I just didn't look up,' she adds her next remark with a smirk, 'Don't tell me you already miss me and my gorgeous smile.'

'Get over yourself, will you?' I push my bag aside and sit alongside her. We look at each other and burst into laughter.

'You can't even be serious in such situations, huh?' I ask giggling with her.

'Nope.' She said, popping the 'p' as she shook her head.

I take her in for a hug, her hands wrapping around my shoulders tightly. Oh, I love this. I dearly hope I never lose this. My eyes shoot towards the clock that is striking half hour past five. I sigh deeply and loosen my arms around her.

'I am going downstairs for a walk. You want to join me?'

'Nah, I wish I could. But I have my paper tomorrow and I really need to study something.'I laugh at her. 'That is what you get when you waste your entire year messing around with people.'

She throws a pillow at me and I dodge it. Another wave of laughter engulfs us as I put on my oversized shirt over my top. I don't mind doing my messy hair again. I ain't going to meet anyone. I put on my flip-flops and head towards the door.

'Call me if you need anything.'

'Sure, enjoy your walk.'

'Thanks.' I smile at her and then walk down to the park for my routinely sunset walk.
