Janet POV"Baby move the tree over just a bit." Me and Toni were finishing putting up the Christmas tree. Christmas is two days away and I'm so excited yet sad. This would be my first Christmas without being with my family. Don't get me wrong I'm happy to be spending it with Toni but I'm gonna miss my mom and dad duet to silent night by the temptation and me and my sisters staying up all night watching hallmark movies and home alone.
"Janet!" Toni screamed.
"Huh? I'm sorry I was daydreaming."
"I said is the tree good right here?"
"Yes baby that's good."she moved from behind the tree and walked over to where I was sitting.
"You okay baby?"
"Just thinking about what my family doing. I kinda miss them. Especially since it's the holidays. You know." Toni had express to me before that she gets sad around the holidays because of her mom. So I know she understands.
"Aww baby. I know how you feel. Do you wanna go see them."
"Absolutely not." She laughed.
"So stubborn."
"I know the pot ain't calling the kettle black." We stared at each other for a minute.
"Touché." I laughed. "Well what are some traditions you did with your family that we can recreate."I smiled. Toni is so sweet.
"We can bake cookies on Christmas Eve and watch home alone. Have you ever watched it?"
"Janet are you kidding me? That's my favorite Christmas movie. Well I like two better than one."
"What! One is so much better than two." I argued.
"Damita be real with yourself. Two has the best booby traps and it was funny as hell. KEVIN YOU SPENT $967 ON ROOM SERVICE." I burst out laughing.
"You are so dumb" we laughed. "I never knew you liked that movie. Learn something new everyday." She smiled and kissed my lips.
"Oh I got our pajamas." She got up and ran up the stairs. "I forgot to tell you I got them earlier when I went to the mall." She came back showing me our pajamas. They were onesies with trees and snowflakes on it.
"Oh my god babe I can't wait to wear this. We're gonna be so cute." I kissed her cheek. "Okay babe I have to get ready for my hair appointment."
"Why you leaving me" she faked whined. "Why can't they come here and do your hair."
"Because Lala is out of town so I'm gonna go to the salon."
"Fine." She pouted. "What you getting."
"You'll see when I'm done." I sassed.
"Fine"I giggled.
Finally pulling up to the hair salon. I decided to go to the one up here instead of the southside because I knew it was gonna be packed. Walking inside I saw that it was two older ladies sitting down look like they were waiting to be called. "Hello how may I help you?" The young girl spoke. I can tell she was the owner daughter because she is way too young to work anywhere else.
"Hi I have an appointment for 3:30 for Janet."
"Okay, you can have a seat I'll tell her you're here."
"Okay thanks." I sat down on the chair that sat next to the door. Hearing the door ring I lifted my head naturally seeing a familiar face. "Oh my god hi Tamar."
