Toni pov

"Is there any reason you wanted to meet here?"  "Yeah.I don't know ya ass like that" I was down at the warehouse meeting with Janet dad. That's who called. "So wassup nigga?" I sparked my blunt. "So I wanted to talk to you because I miss my pumpkin and she hasn't respond to any of my calls or messages and I know her mother said some things "

"No she said some hurtful things. So Don't. she was disrespectful as fuck."

"I know and we apologize for it "

"We or you? It seems to me and with all due respect it seems to me y'all wanna save y'all faces. How would it look for the parents of the valedictorian not to show up?"

"You're right. It would look horrible but in all honesty I wanna be there for my daughter I can't miss this. Please talk to her. " I finished up my blunt sitting it in the ash tray.

"I'll see bruh." I shook his hand and he walked out.

I packed my shit made sure everything was locked.
Heading to my car my phone rung. "Hello"

"HELLO MY ASS TONI WHERE YOU AT?"

"Janet who the fuck are you yelling at ?"

"You. Fuck off my phone dumb ass" before I can say anything she hung up in my face. I called again to only be sent to voicemail. I think I've been rubbing off of her this past couple of weeks cause this girl mouth is reckless. Well she been had a little smart mouth. the first night we met she was tryna play a nigga, but now this girl off the hook.

I pulled up to the house parking my shit in the driveway. I took two deep breaths before getting out cause Janet got me fucked up with that smart ass mouth.

I open the door and seen all the lights turned off beside the living room.

Walking farther in I saw janet sitting on the couch recording herself her hair was blown out. Damn she look fine.

"Yo" she looked up at me and rolled her eyes looking back at her phone. Im not having this tonight.

I walked over to the couch picking her up. Im not doing this attitude today. "Janet. What is wrong "

"Toni put me down." She folded her arms.

"Not until you tell me what the fuck the problem is."

"Why didn't you tell me you was leaving? I don't like that I feel like you hiding stuff from me." I sat down having her sit on my lap.

"Baby I would never hide shit from you. I met with your dad. He called me while you was sleep saying he wanted to met up."

"My dad? What the hell how did he get your number? And why did he wanna meet?"

"He wants me to convince you to let them come to your graduation"

"Yeah no. I don't want them there"

"Okay Janet I know that your mom is well you know but I think your should let your dad come atleast."

"Toni don't tell me what to do. If I wanna invite them I will. "
