Laura's POV
I waited for the heavy feeling of a bottle cracking on my body, but instead I felt shallow breaths ruffling through my hair.

"Get out of here".

It was that Jimin, standing over me, protecting me. The jerk face that was so rude to me before.

"What are you still doing? Get out of here!" Jimin yelled at me.

I saw that he had pushed the guy into a row of shelves behind us but I had no time to feel relief; I had to get to my phone, I had to call someone. But as soon as I started running I could hear Jimin already struggling with the guy.

Paranoia started to build up inside me but I couldn't leave him; just as I needed him he needed me. I looked around frantically and saw a bunch of large plant pots near the lilies. I grabbed the largest one and ran back to the other end of the store, not understanding fully what I was intending to do with it.

Once I got there I saw Jimin underneath the sicko who was trying to push the other half of the broken bottle in his face. There wasn't any fear in Jimin's eyes, more like anger - a severe, bubbling anger.

Without further hesitation I ran over to both of them, pot in hand and smashed it onto the dirt-bag's head. Silence rained over the store for a moment, followed by the loud thud of the guy falling onto the floor.

He was unconscious.

Jimin pushed himself up from the ground and came straight to me.

"Hey, hey are you okay?" He softly asked touching my shoulders, but I couldn't answer him. Instead I fell into his chest and started to cry. His arms wrapped around my shivering body and we both melted to the floor.

"He was going to kill me, if you weren't here then he would have succeeded". I whimpered, as I held on tighter to the sleeves of his leather jacket.

"Shhh, it's okay, I'm here now. You're safe. You're safe." He repeated those two words in my ear as he stroked my hair. I buried my head deeper into his chest; he saved me, I could have died tonight but he came back. I couldn't imagine myself being with anyone else right now.

After taking a moment to calm me down Jimin called the police. They came in no time and immediately dragged the still unconscious sicko away from us. An ambulance was also called as a safety precaution, but Jimin and I both insisted that we were fine. I refused to let go of Jimin's hand throughout the whole process, I found comfort in the warmth of this stranger's skin.

"Ma'am if you and your boyfriend would like we can drop you both home". A kind police officer offered us. Wait, BOYFRIEND?!

"Um actually this guy-" but I was stopped by a squeeze from Jimin's hand — what was with this him constantly cutting me off mid-sentence?

"It's fine officer, I will make sure she gets home safe" Jimin replied. With a nod of his head the police officer left Jimin and I in the empty, half-wrecked store.

"Should we leave then?" He asked, snapping me out of my daze at the fact that he didn't deny the boyfriend statement.

"What? No not now, we can't. I have to call the store manager, he needs to know what happened here tonight". Jimin gave me a dangerous look.

"Considering what just happened to you I think that should be the last thing on your mind. Just lock up and you can tell him tomorrow morning, you need rest". Gosh he sounded like my mum... I wish she were here. Obeying his orders I grabbed my belongings and locked up the store.

As we walked under the silky moonlight I stayed close by his side.

"Um, Ji-Jimin. Where are we going?"

"To my car of course"

"Why?"

"Do you think I'm going to let you go home alone?" His hand squeezed mine once again. 'You're safe; his words echoed in my head.

We reached his car: a sleek BMW one series on the outside, but as soon as I sat inside a sea of shinny princess stickers and childish drawings on post-it notes surrounded me: a niece or younger sister maybe? Interesting.

He started his car up and I tapped the details of my address into his navigator.

"You know you never told me your name," he asked in a much gentler voice than before, as if all his stress had melted away in the presence of his car's glittery interior.

"Laura Reynolds"

"Park Jimin"

"I know, I read it on your ID. It's weird though, even though your name is really popular I feel like I've specifically heard your's somewhere". I saw his fingers curl tighter around his steering wheel.

"Yeah, coincidence" he whispered looking straight ahead. There was something about this guy, but I didn't even know him so it wasn't any of my business.

The rest of the car journey remained silent apart from the steady hum of the engine. I could feel the lonesome aura Jimin gave off as if a large piece of his heart was missing. Not wanting to be the first one to speak again I rested my head against the cool glass of the window and watched the fog of the night slowly engulf the car. And with that I let myself fall into a deep sleep.
