*THE MORNING AFTER KYLIE'S NIGHT OUT, ALSO THE SAME DAY AS MALIA'S FIRST DAY OF WORK*
I had woken up that morning with the most horrendous hangover I'd experienced in a long time. I pulled myself slowly out of bed, groaning groggily while my aching head felt as if it was doing backflips. When I had finally fully stood up and thought I could just get on with my day, I was overcome with an uncontrollable spell of dizziness and felt a sharp twinge strike my head. I gasped in agony, my hand quickly moving to clasp my forehead in pain. I sat back down while my brain tried its best to ride out this sudden awfully faint feeling. I took deep breaths, doing all I could to just think away from the shooting pain. After a minute or two, the sparks and stars that I had been seeing subsided and my head calmed down significantly. I thought it was probably best not to attempt to leave my bed for a bit, at least until I was sure I could walk safely without being struck down by another wave of extreme nausea. Feeling sick and useless, I flopped back into my sheets and shut my eyes. At that moment, my mind suddenly regained alertness and recalled Tristan and mine's conversation last night. My hand shot over to my bedside table and snatched my phone. I pulled up our recent texts, looking in horror as I scrolled through them. What was I thinking arranging to meet him?! I was in no way in a fit enough state to leave my dorm room, I slapped my face, whined and kicked my feet in sheer frustration.
"Come on Kylie just go. It'll be nice." said the angel in my head, trying to convince myself to stop the temptation of cancelling on him.
"Or... you could just say that something came up and you can't make it..." a contrary voice inside said persuasively.
I was so unsure of what to do. I obviously didn't want to be a huge bitch and hurt his feelings but at the same time, the last thing I wanted to do was go and see a fucking terrifying thriller movie whilst simultaneously battling a raging hangover. I sighed as my finger pressed the FaceTime app icon, I knew what I had to do. There was only one person who could give me a completely honest, no bullshit answer, that person was Ruby Rose Turner. Ruby and I have been best friends ever since we were like eight years old and dancing on the same competitive team as each other. That girl has had my back through absolutely everything, I'm talking: my first heart break, my parents separating, taking care of me when I was pouring my guts out throwing up on a night out, and so much more. It didn't take long before I was met by the image of a smiley, princess-looking, blonde girl pinging onto my phone screen. A big smile formed on my face, seeing her instantly cheered me up, Ruby had some kind of infectious positive aura that never failed to work on me.
"Kyyy!!!" she beamed enthusiastically, smiling from ear to ear.
I chuckled at her excitement, "Hey Rubes! Thanks for answering, do you mind if I ask you something?" I asked, a hint of raspiness in my drowsy morning voice.
"No of course not, anything for my girl! Let me guess, you're dad's being an absolute asshole again and you need my help in plotting his downfall? If so... I've got a bunch of ideas! Put purple hair dye in his shampoo? Egg his house? Ooh.. what if we slashed the tyres of that precious Aston Martin he just bought!"
I laughed at her hilarious wit but cut her off before she could get any more carried away, "Well yes he actually has been super annoying and we should 100 percent do all those things to him another time, but that's not really what I was calling you about."
Ruby's scheming face settled down to a calm, inquisitive expression and she replied, "Oh right right, my bad. You know me, I'll always jump at the chance to give that idiot the revenge he deserves, after everything he's put you through. But anyways, go on, what were you gonna say?"
I took a deep breath and spoke, "Do you remember that guy who asked for my number last night?"
Ruby raised an eyebrow, "Kylie, you're gonna need to be a bit more specific than that. You do realise that whenever we go out you get hit on by like minimum ten guys?"
